wanaka view motel was in a great position close to the Main Street with view of the lake across the park
only negative was it was a bit small for a two bed apartment and the couch was very small. as only two of us staying, it was ok, but I cant imagine four people staying here comfortably

My hotel stay was an extremely unpleasant experience, particularly due to the service provided by the staff. When we asked the staff member if there was an extra blanket available, the response was an extremely abrupt and dismissive "no." It was quite perplexing to think that a hotel would not have spare blankets readily available. When I further inquired if there were any additional blankets or comforters in their storage, the response remained just as brusque with another "no."
It's hard for me not to wonder if this person may have been prejudiced, treating us differently simply because we are of Asian descent. Additionally, the bathroom was in a very dated condition with outdated fixtures and the blanket had visible dust on it, further adding to the overall dissatisfaction with our stay.

The location to the park and view of Wanaka Lake and mountains was amazing.
The rooms were so incredibly small you could not even put a suit case in them on the floor.

Central location, walking distance to supermarket and town center
The place smaller then what the photos are showing, the main bedroom door can't be closed because the bed was in the way. No space of even one suitcase in the bedrooms, it's more suitable for 2 adults and 2 children max.

Great location, easy walk to everything - lake, shops and restaurants.
Disappointed as it wasn't a 3 bedroom 'apartment', as advertised, it is a unit. Too small for 4 people, let alone more. Very small, basic kitchen. Staff let themselves into our 'unit' while we were out to wipe windows and empty rubbish, but we were not notified about it. We only noticed when windows and blinds were left open. We wouldn't have an issue if we were told this happens, but they specify they 'do not service the rooms'. One window left open was the kitchen - no blind and it was left open, at the entry to our unit, someone could have easily accessed our room. Not safe and secure at all, the motel is on a main road - anyone could have entered. Not good enough and not how you run a motel. Particularly as we had not even met staff on check in, they would have no idea who is coming and going. Certainly not value for money - $389 per night for a tiny unit is way over the top. Very disappointing.
