Disappointing
location, close to other restarants.
Bar nibbles were to expencive for stuff you get out of a freezer bag...... food you can get at newworld not freshly made...After that didnt want to try the in house dining, went down the street even in the poring Rain ...you have to look at changing that.

Wonderful
I find the place very charming. I took all of my dinners at their restaurant and enjoyed the food and ambience very much. Cindy in particular is a very lovely, friendly, service-oriented person who works in the restaurant. Great location.
The classic double room is quite small. I prefer the Estate rooms. Needs better sound barrier between rooms.

Wonderful
Great location, very quiet room and we enjoyed the newly refurbished private hot pool. The room was large and had everything we needed for our stay, the coffee machine was a great bonus. Lovely to stay in the old hotel as well, lots of history.
Nothing everything was great.

Very Good
The decor, the stained glass windows, the beds were comfy, coffee availability in the room.
Bathroom needs updating, no AC in the 2nd bedroom. We were on the 2nd floor of the apartments and there was no lift.

Wonderful
It was Avery interesting old hotel, well restored and maintained. The location was great, close in but out of the tourist hustle. We enjoyed most of the amenities: bar, dining room, breakfast buffet, hot pools and sauna. Staff was very helpful and the food was good.

Pleasant
The way they've remodeled it is clever. You can tell it was an older property and they've restored it in an interesting way. The bed was comfortable and there is free parking on the side of the hotel. A short walk away from the lake and streets with many restaurants.
It's an older property, it's a wooden structure and you can hear everything. You can hear noise outside the door quite well and you can hear footsteps in the room above quite loudly. The breakfast was a poor option for a supposed five star hotel.

Classic, historic hotel, fantastic location, we had a large room in the annex
Breakfast. Under ripe melons, stale croissants

Wonderful
Close to Government Gardens and lakeside geothermal area. Comfortable old style lounge and bar facility. Can walk to many restaurants
Hot tub was closed for repairs but referral to nearby geothermal Polynesian Pools complex more than compensated, at a reasonable price for an upgrade.

Great location and very helpful staff. They offered to upgrade us to a suite for the same price we wanted to stay another night as they didn’t have the same room available the next night. Main building very regal.

Very Good
Great location. A charming, Old World style property. Loved the extra space.
Not sure why any pots and pans included when there's no hob. Shower curtain was several inches short so water splashed all around. Precious little shelf space in the bath for toiletries. These are minor issues for a short stay.
