The beds were comfy. The block out curtains were great. The shower worked.
The room was right up against the lift; above the pool area. The pool area directly below the room was very noisy-mostly as people were gathering around the pool to socialise late in the evening. Unattended children running around the hotel floors screaming and pounding on hotel room doors (ours) made sleep almost impossible. To their credit, the reception staff and security dealt with the children quickly and efficiently. A function at the hotel went on way longer than expected-so the music and exiting of people also disturbed sleep until very late. This (way more than ambient) noise would not normally affect a guest if the sound proofing of the rooms was better. Food at the hotel restaurant was pricey and my own meal (a simple Thai salad) was inedible given the amount of oil over it and tough tasteless meat; and a simple request not to include coriander was ignored. The other two guests enjoyed their meals-although they also commented on the odd flavour to their meals. While we got a car park when we checked in-there was no parking at all in the evening or the next morning. We ended up parking on a side street a short distance from the hotel (and that did not feel safe). Given the expectations of the standards for a Rydges Hotel-this was a disappointing stay and we are unlikely to stay again or recommend the hotel. It's a shame as the location is so good on the edge of town. We had expected a peaceful nights stay. It was anything but.

Parking spaces limited when returning on an evening, though there may have been a weekend event on, so can't say if this is usually the case

Ive stayed here many times and have noticed the standard of cleanliness has dropped. Both in bedrooms and pool and spa.
There was pubic hair and snot on thr toilet seat. Room didnt smell clean.

Room was comfortable, even though the hotel is quite old. Really enjoyed the pool & spa, water from local thermal pools.
Dinner was excellrnt value in their onsite restaurant.

Room was tidy, we enjoyed the Buffet dinner. Staff were friendly.
Pool area was great.
There was some dirt around the base of the bathroom taps, the room was between 2 buildings so no view at all. Our stay was only for 1 night.so this didnt worey us too much.
