Pretty good location, not too far from town (although a bit of a steep hill up) and nicely located to access Queenstown Hill walking trail. Staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and the room was nice and spacious. New looking showers and toilets and good laundry facilities and nice to have the option to cook food. Also good outdoor seating in common area.
It would have been nicer if the common kitchen area had actual hot plates and multiple pots and pans (also chopping boards would be good) rather than multiple appliances to plug and cook with one at a time. It would also have been good if the double bed was an actual double bed and not two singles put together. Finally, you can hear everything going on outside the room (we were very close to reception and every morning was woken up by the sound of other guests checking out etc), so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs
