Wonderful
No problems checking in, staff was pleasant and offered help if needed. 2 bedroom with kitchen was roomy and well stocked with dishes, etc. Beds were comfortable and the apartment was clean and ready when we arrived with the requested baby crib set up. Plenty of onsite parking. It was about a 20 min walk into the town center which we enjoyed.
There was nothing we did not like. No complaints at all.

Not in the center but walkable also botanic gardens accesaible on foot.
Only drawback in the room.we were in, was it got the afternoon /eve sun (mid February), and there is no AC.
There is a fan and they gave us a 2nd one - but only partial solution.
But when sun goes down opening windows solves tge problem

Convenient location, very clean and comfortable, and quiet. Vivian and Grant are great hosts. This is our second stay in three years and we have been pleased both times.
No negatives for us, since my wife and I enjoy walking, we don’t mind walking a few blocks for restaurants.

Disappointing
The location is quiet.
The rooms are old. The carpets and couches were damp and old. The beds sunk in the middle and did not provide support. Very disappointed with this lodge.

The room was well appointed and had everything we needed. Very spacious. Free on-site parking. Within walking distance to the city center. Short distance to Hagley Park. When checking in, Grant was at reception and warmly greeted us, giving us many different recommendations on things to do around the city. Would recommend staying here!

It’s a very lovely spot and was so nice to sit and have tea out front of our room and relax. The rooms were open and well fitted with a small kitchen and other amenities. It really worked for us!

Stayed here twice on our recent trip to New Zealand. The first time our room was great, no issues. The second time, the bathroom window would not lock and there were a couple of other small items. However, the staff was extremely nice both stays. Would still recommend this property as it’s clean and within walking distance of the Botanical Gardens and many other places to visit.
