The location was perfect. We could easily walk to all locations in the city centre.
Although we only stayed for two days there were no clothes storage facilities,

The motel is in an excellent location with nearly all the activities in the city within walking distance. The hop on tram stop is right outside which was nice. It was also quiet since the room was tucked away off the street. The kitchen was stocked well enough. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable too.
The smell of the room was pretty bad. When we arrived, the windows and door were open but that did not help alleviate the smell in the room, which seemed most like dog urine. The other issue was because the windows and door had been left open, we ended up having to kill a few mosquitoes. The faucets in the kitchen and bathroom were loose and difficult to use. The plates in the cabinet were dirty. There was an overall feeling of the property being run down. I was surprised to find such conditions given the positive reviews.

Even though it was in a great location in Central Christchurch, there was little outside noise in the room.

The location is good for walking around the sights of Christchurch. The price vs room/facilities was fine. Breakfast (additional cost) was home made and good. The hosts offer a shuttle service to the airport that was perfect. Tram stop directly across the road

Superb location, which was our main reason for booking. Easy walking to city centre, Hadley Park. Added bonus very close to a tram stop.
Lighting in the rooms, especially bathroom.

We have stayed here 6 times for Electric Avenue and once while travelling and the same people have been there for every visit. The hosts are fabulous, very friendly and have been more than accommodating with our large car that doesn't generally fit into the parks. So handy to Hagley Park which is a 10 min stroll or to the Remembrance Bridge, Riverside market and an awesome selection of bars and eateries. The rooms are clean, tidy and warm with upstairs having their own balconies to sit and enjoy a wine or the courtyard below where the downstairs rooms open out to. The main house is also available with some lovely rooms. Optional continental or cooked breakfast is available for a fantastic price as well. We highly recommend The Grange and will definitely be staying there again.

We were in Rm 10, an Executive studio on ground floor in motel units at rear of property, one in from the end. We loved the quietness of the location, the huge shower area, the location of the motel. Our room opened out onto a shared patio area. This was great for sun but if privacy is your thing maybe go for one of the upper units (smaller, but have a balcony that is yours alone). 2-hob cooker plus fridge and tiny microwave in room. Very helpful owners.
Working out whether one was booking ground floor or first floor unit in the motel units wasn't easy. We ended up ground floor, but would have liked option of being first floor, or knowing if unit was one of the 4 in the middle or 4 on the ends.
The parking got a little busy later in the day, so arrive early if with a car.
