It’s located right next to a construction project and across from the new stadium. Our window overlooked a bunch of big blue bags that were probably dirty laundry and it faced a wall. We asked to be moved to a different room with an actual view out of the window and were told there weren’t any.

Very easy walk to restaurants and shopping, and now new convention venue is opening right across the street. It seems like we were also upgraded into a nicer, large room that included a washer and dryer in the unit. Perhaps a minor feature that could make a big difference for a day of exploring Riverside Market and the Botanical Gardens was the bin of about 15 umbrellas for guests to borrow on rainy days.
Nothing to change; hopefully room rates will stay close to where they are now after the convention center opens.

Good location, onsite free parking, room was simple but has the necessities + washer/dryer which was a bonus
We had a few issues with our stay that coloured our experience.
Firstly the keycard we were given didn't work so had to get it reprogrammed. Not the first time this has happened to us Ina hotel and a simple fix.
Secondly, the room had a terrible issue with drafts and Christchurch was very windy when we arrived. This led to a horrible, very loud wailing sound due to the strong draft. This didn't appear to affect other rooms (you could hear it from outside the room). There were no other rooms available to move us to. The suggestions from reception were either to put a towel under the door, or to wait until the evening staff close the windows at 7:30pm and see if it helps - however there would be no one on site after this to help if not, so we would have had to called the after hours manager. Fortunately, the towel worked - not ideal but not a huge deal.
Thirdly, when we got back from dinner out, we found that our fridge has decided it was time to defrost itself and had leaked all over the entryway tiles. Fortunately none of our belongings were affected. We had some spare towels in the room we could use to mop it up - there was none on site to complain to that evening so we decided to just deal with it.

My stay at Ramada was a complete disappointment. The room cleanliness was shocking – I found underwear from previous guests left in the dryer (one male, one female). This is not only unhygienic but also shows a total lack of attention to basic housekeeping.
After checking out, I realized I had left some clothes in the washing machine. I called the hotel multiple times over two days (morning and afternoon each day). Every call involved them asking for my name, check-in/check-out dates, room number, and detailed descriptions of the lost items, including color and distinguishing features. Each time, they assured me they would follow up immediately, either by email or phone. In reality, no one ever responded, and no action was taken.
Eventually, I had to send a friend to the hotel in person to inquire, and only then did they casually say the items were not found. The entire process was disorganized, slow, and demonstrated complete negligence and lack of responsibility.
For anyone considering staying at Ramada, be aware: their hygiene standards are poor, and their customer service is utterly unprofessional. They make promises they do not keep. I cannot recommend this hotel under any circumstances.
