Good
Great location and historic building.
The gym or "wellness centre" was incredible, this is the dream hotel for a weight lifter like my partner, it had every machine you could ever hope for.
The room was a good size and staff were very helpful.
Our heater was a bit hit and miss so the room was very cold. It has no sound proofing so we heard partying in the back alleyway until the early hours which was ok because we are heavy sleepers but not for some.
Things are a bit run down, lots of chips in paint needing a bit of love.
The main issue was safety, the second bedroom had a bed pushed right up to the railing with a significant drop down to the lounge (fortunately the shutters could be locked from the top to prevent falls).
Worst was the blind cord which was unsecured and hanging right next to a seating box by the window, I understand it isnt mandated in NZ to secure these cords but given it is a quick fix (and cheap) and it is illegal in Australia, I was surprised a childs bedroom would have one unsecured.

Wonderful
I wanted to be close to all the central facilities. Te Pae convention Centre, Riverside restaurants, shopping, Bars, One Nz Stadium. I really liked the style and the overall set up of the Adina Heritage Hotel along with the downstairs restaurant inside & out.
I had a bed that needed to be upgraded other than that I was really impressed having stayed at many other hotels in the central Christchurch area.

Exceptional
The location, staff, building and pool
It’s a bit noisy with the street and the windows. Could do with earplugs

The size of the rooms were great and very comfortable and clean.Having two bathrooms with four adults was wonderful. The bed was actually a lot softer than what I’ve had at other hotels but still slept very well. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Location is brilliant right in the centre of the city and close to lots of great cafes and restaurants. The on-site restaurant and bar was excellent also. Highly recommend

Very Good
Spacious, good facilities, comfortable, clean, homely yet historic.
Staff were all very helpful and friendly.
It felt safe for me as a solo traveller.
Excellent location.
I would stay here again.
I didn't realise the bedroom and bathroom were upstairs within the suite. (Perhaps it was there in the description and I missed it). Also there were steep steps to the front door. So although staff helped me with my heavy luggage, this is not really a mobility disability-friendly hotel.
Sound-proofing between floors wasn't great either - lots of stomping noise one night from.the floor above.
But these elements didn't bother me personally too much. Just letting others know.

Location was perfect. Market Fish on evening menu was delicious. Beds very comfortable.
We did not like the steep, narrow stairs to the bedroom. We are elderly and feel we should have been advised of the steep stairs. It was very difficult getting our bags up and down stairs.

Wonderful
it was a beautiful building and friendly staff. The bar and restaurant in front of the hotel were great. It's very handy walk to go everywhere. We enjoyed watching the trams were going in and out from our window.
It was very noisy at the night people from the bar next our building were screaming, shouting out loud on the street till 3am Friday and Saturday night.
