Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed meeting other travellers at breakfast and being waited on. Lovely accommodation. Short walk to shops, restaurants, takeaways and our campervan rental.

A beautiful, historic cottage that is walkable distance to fantastic restaurants and a micro brewery. Fantastic hosts with heaps of great recommendations on what to see in Christchurch. A fabulous breakfast room with an array of breakfast choice and coffee! Also has a small kitchen for guests to gather and/or make their own pod coffees
I feel that the bedroom needs a freshen up. The wallpaper and the paint on the doors need to be brightened up. The bathroom had been renovated nicely

At last, a real Bed & Breakfast with so much charm. Hosts Chet & Steve were exceptional. Lots of advice on things to do in Christchurch and places to see. They provided a delicious continental breakfast including a choice of fresh fruit grown in their garden. Great location. We would definitely recommend staying at Designer Cottage

I loved that it was an interesting historical cottage set in beautiful gardens and a lovely leafy street The hosts Chet and Steve were so welcoming and offered a great breakfast! The location is great for getting into the centre of Christchurch but also the advantage of having a great local restaurant close by (You must book in advance) . I highly recommend staying here! Steve and Chet were so kind as we wanted to do a small wash and when we returned later that evening it was neatly folded on the bed.. ! I would say they went the extra mile:) -

Lovely B&B in Christchurch. Very comfortable room. Ample parking outside the property. Steve, the host, was extremely friendly and helpful, and his suggestions for nearby restaurants were spot on. He did breakfast a bit early on our final morning so we could get to the airport in good time. We stayed three nights on our trip around South Island and were very happy to go back for a final night before our flight back home.

For us personally the location was great. Chet and Steve were fantastic couldn't do enough for us and the rest of the guests. Really interested in what all the guests were doing and helping us with lots of information. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again loved every minute of our time at designer cottage and would highly recommend it.
