I had a wonderful stay at Designer Cottage. The place is absolutely charming, very cosy and full of character. The breakfast was excellent, and everything made me feel comfortable and at home from the very first moment.
But what really made the experience special were the hosts, Chet and Steve. They are incredibly kind and welcoming, and I truly enjoyed our conversations so much.
I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Christchurch .

We had a wonderful stay. The host was very thoughtful and prepared fried udon for breakfast (seeing that we are Malaysians and probably miss Asian food). We loved the fantastic tour of their incredible garden. Learned so much about local fruits & flowers. Thank you! Will definitely recommend family and friends to stay here.

The friendly service put this B&B above the rest. They where extremely friendly and did all they could to make my stay enjoyable. The facilities are very clean and comfortable with a older world charm.

For a$206 one night in apartment #2 it was a gross rip off. Right from the start everything was wrong. The instructions were not sequentially successful . No code for entry was provided by txt or otherwise. The host went out for that nights rugby game . There was no information to go to the front door to pick up the code stuck to the front door. The video instruction showed to go direct to the driveway entry where the coded door was . Then the code stuck to the front door based upon my mobile phone digits did not work. Plain disaster. The room mattress was depressed and noisy. The room barely fitted the bed . The bathroom was do small that you could not wash your hands immersed in the small sink.

What a delightful accommodation find, and an unexpected surprise of a kitchenette in our cottage. Host Steve met us on arrival and gave us a tour of the facilities and a page with a map and suggestions. Host Chet served breakfast and provided more tips and suggestions. Many laughs were enjoyed - it's rare to find this level of personalised service in a B&B. The premises (both the dwellings and the gardens) have been meticulously designed and curated.
Breakfast is from 8-9am.
The location is a walkable distance to the CBD.
We stayed 2 nights, and it's a great location to use as a base when exploring the beyond ChCh.

The hosts were friendly and helpful. The breakfast definitely filled the spot each morning. Very close to bus services which was great since we didn't have a car.
The room was adequate but a bit cramped. Not enough storage space provided. The tiny fridge (not even a bar fridge) was disappointing.

The property was very cosy with a lovely garden. The location was very convenient. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming and provided a lovely breakfast. Steve and Chet also provided great advice on cafes , restaurants and attractions. Our second stay at Designer cottage. I would highly recommend it for value and great vibe.

Great breakfast with some home-made options. Location is some distance from the city. I had made an error with my booking date, and I arrived i=one day early. The host was offsite and came back to accommodate me and change the booking date.
