NICE PLACE, BREAKFAST 'CONTINENTAL' ISH BUT VERY STRANGE BREAKFASTING ON SHARED TABLES. NOT EVERYBODY IS SOCIAL AT 07.30 - A SOMEWHAT FORCED ATMOSPHERE. EXCELLENT SHOWER AND THE CURRENT TREND OF WALL MOUNTED (LET'S SAVE A PENNY) SOAP DISPENSERS ACTUALLY WORKED, WELL DONE.
COLD ROOM, JUST COULDN'T GET IT WARM. SEE BREAKFAST COMMENT ABOVE.

Wonderful
The classic nature and details were incredible. The staff was very good and made us feel welcomed. The variety of breakfast was interesting to us as were able to try different things each morning. We loved the availability of coffee - whenever you wanted it!
There are so many restaurants in Christchurch, we wanted to make sure we hit "the best for us". I always "quiz" the front desk folks, for recommendations or hints. Although the recs were provided, I felt like there was a bit of "convincing enthusiasm" missing. I found out that this is because these folks hadn't had a chance to explore them so much. I recommend that the local restaurants give them an incentive to come so they can pass along the good word to the customers.

We loved the large bedroom, location across from the Arts Centre and tram stop. Jo and Lindsay were very friendly and helpful.

Location was primo
There was a marathon going on in Christchurch the day I was leaving and the hotel was right in the middle of the area blocked for vehicle traffic until 3 PM that afternoon. I had to have an Uber to get me to the airport for my flight early in the afternoon and I was stuck since the Uber could not get to the classic Villa . I felt that Cherie, as the manager should’ve known in advance and been able to tell me where I could go to meet an Uber, but she was clueless . I ended up walking 3 miles in the rain without knowing the city. I probably walked to the wrong way, but a little help from management would’ve been very useful . every guest would’ve been impacted by no traffic coming through.

Great location! The sraf was friendly and helpful.
We were on the upper floor, and could hear the rain all the time falling on the roof or some other surface near our window, thow it was closed. The water pressure can be better.

Breakfast great. Nice to be mixed in with a variety of guests. Lovely lounge, dining and outdoor area. Great location opposite Arts Centre, near Art Gallery, good places to eat out and Botanic Gardens. Tram stop nearly opposite. Beautiful old villa and I was privileged to be able to stay in the heritage part. Very nice touches like unlimited tea and coffee in the dining room plus fruit bowl, cookies etc, The glass of port in the evening was also much appreciated
My en suite was fine, good hot water and everything worked well, but the shower curtains did not smell very nice. I was charged a lot for single occupancy
