Walking distance to Hagley park. Good pub next door. Bed was comfortable and room was big
Decor a bit dated. Wifi was very slow in evenings.

Room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. Given a small choc brownie on check in that was so good needed to be twice the size

I stayed here as a manual wheelchair user and I have no issues whatsoever, the staff were helpful and I was able to use the kitchen without issue. The location is only half an hour walk from the city centre and it's a beautiful walk through the park at that. It's also only a twenty-minute walk from the station, so the location was perfect for me. The kitchen layout was good, and I was able to reach everything which was a problem I had in a different location. I had couple of little niggles with the stay as a disabled person, but if I was able bodied, I would have zero problems.
I would point out that the room I was given was opposite the disabled parking space which was outside another room. This was no problem to me because I returned my hire car the first night in Christchurch, but had I had a car I would have needed to use this space to be able to get in and out of the car. There are a little table and chairs at the back, but this was not accessible to a wheelchair user. I wasn't bothered, but if you are a wheelchair user and you do smoke it is inconvenient.

Property was convenient & average in amenities . The manager was the worst we have ever come across. We had previously checked for late arrival ( we came from Australia & informed him we would be there around 1.00am .. ) we were assured no problem there is a code near the reception to get the key .. The taxi driver went above his pay position in staying with us until we could open the four digit box which refused to open. It was the middle of the night & raining with no protection at reception from the rain. The manager eventually answered & came down.. didn’t acknowledge us at all , angrily went to the box and just said “ it was a one” turned his back & left .. we were all shocked at his intolerance of the situation. We looked at the code many times that had been sent to us, the taxi driver saw it too .. there was no “ one” in it. We had been given the wrong code .. this spoiled our stay here to have a such an appalling start to our visit to the South Island , if your coming after hours .. Do not choose this accomodation !
