Disappointing
The living and sleeping space of the room was good and clean enough. The beds were good and the sheets were clean. Other seating in the living space was adequate.
The kitchen and bathroom needed more TLC. The shower had a thick layer of mould around the bottom that looked terrible. It appears that the staff don't care about it. I went out and bought a bottle of Exit Mould as I couldn't shower with it as bad as it was. The kitchen was also a little uncared for, oven was not clean and the fridge seal was dirty. There wasn't enough room to store extra pillows and blankets that we didn't need so I threw them on top of the cupboard and was rewarded with a thick layer of dust falling onto me.

Very Good
Easy fast check in, close to everything we needed
Parking was tight when the carpark was full. Motel could do with a lot of work to make it look good again. STD of cleaning needs to be 100% especially bathroom. NO air con in room.

Poor
The office man was helpful and friendly. The bed was ok.
Dirty. The whole room especially the bathroom needed a really good clean. Mould on the ceiling and in the cracks around the bath. The bath was dirty and so were all the walls surrounding it. It was a spa bath and the jets were coated in what appeared to be brown mould and the door was broken. There is a little kitchenette but I was too scared to use it. The mini oven was dirty and greasy. The blind was missing in the kitchen so anyone walking around the back would have full view inside the room and the blind in one of the rooms was broken. The furniture was dated and the couch had stains and crumbs in the cracks not mentioned the greasy cushions. The kitchen scrubber had what appeared to be short curly hairs on it so we had to ask for a new one. I paid $200 for a night here and left feeling ripped off.

Very Good
We booked a 2 bedroom unit, it was a great size for our family of 6. Our kids loved the spa bath. It was lovely to have the room serviced and cleaned daily. Excellent value for the price. Great location. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed for Christmas and it was a great time. Nice and quiet too. We highly recommend staying at the Apollo Motel.

Very Good
The beds and pillows are comfortable, and the room is clean. The room where we are located is generally quiet, though there’s occasional noise from the road when the door is open.
It would be great if the liquid body wash could be refilled instead of providing small bar soaps. Please consider supplying adequate toilet paper.

Location.
That the way the Airport shuttle was advertised was as though it was inclusive in the room price, but it wasn't. Also, the bed configurations were not ideal for our group.

Good location, good Wi-Fi, convenient location, friendly staff
The room had a food smell from the moment we walked in (probably from a nearby restaurant)

We liked the location.
Would have been nice if the heating had been on before our arrival as the unit was as cold as walking into an ice box. (Didn't help that the weather was cold and wet on arrival). It took 3-4 hours to warm up the unit.

Kids room was tidy and dark when curtains pulled. Electric blankets good.
The bathroom takes out the “top black fungus for the South Island award”. The shower was useable but needs repairing.
