Wonderful
the location, history of the building. it's uniqueness and history are really appealing.
only that the room facing the square can be a bit loud at times.

I would recommend this to anyone 1000 times. The staff was incredibly welcoming and hospitable. The location was so peaceful and perfect for exploring KTM and the surroundings. The facilities were so beautiful. It was cold at night but they provided heated blankets and a heater for the room. And plenty of hot water in the mornings!

The building is amazing, and the location is perfect. This would be enough to recommend it.
Good Coffee at breakfast and, good breakfast.
Room is comfortable and spacious, little bit cold but necessary devices for heating are provided.
Everybody very nice and helpful.
It was a little cold, but this was my problem of not being used to stay in a cold place. This is something which is valid for all places we stayed. I just mention it so that if someone would stay, could be ready for that.

Very helpful staff. They are kind and generous with their time. The house is very old and has a lot of character and history. Unbeatable location. Fantastic breakfast.

It is completely charming and elegant. We felt comfortable and well looked after. The bed is comfortable and the bedroom is quiet. The food was really good. The tours arranged with Bikram Suwal were wonderful - and when he wasn’t free, Raj was also brilliant. We will come back.
It was all wonderful

Wonderful
A unique old heritage property. Wonderful exposed woodwork and latticed windows looking down onto the square. The cafe where breakfast is served is peaceful and the food is excellent.
The stairs are steep, but we were warned by the owners before hand, and the are pretty typical of Nepal. The staff carries all bags up and down from the rooms.

The hotel’s historic architecture and its prime location on the square make the stay interesting from a traditional Nepali perspective. The room overlooking the courtyard below was quiet.
Had to use the mosquito net at night (even in late April) after being bitten the first night; too many flies in the dining area; really basic facilities in the room; breakfast was until only 9 am—from 9:30 a carpenter working on a piece of furniture adjacent to the dining area could be heard tapping away; very low door lintels so anyone over 5’10” will have to remember to stoop to avoid banging their head.

Wonderful
This is one of the best places to stay in the Kathmandu valley. Good price, beautiful building in a beautiful livel place, but quiet at night (except for dogs, but it’s Baktapur). Good food, but also good alternatives in the little square. Also just a short walk from Baktapur Durbar square, pottery square , etc and far more historic beautiful places and buildings as well as the main ones.
Lots of activity from parades, festivals , markets and of course great little shops selling carvings, pots, paintings etc.
Neither my first stay here, nor, if lucky, my last.
Repeatedly hitting my head going through low doorways, but not surprising given the antiquity of the place.

Wonderful
The location is unbeatable — right on the oldest and most beautiful square in Bhaktapur. This 700-year-old Newari architecture is truly a hidden gem, full of charm and history. We stayed in a room with the best view of the square, and waking up to that scene was unforgettable. The breakfast was the best experience we had during our stay in Nepal — fresh, authentic, and made with care.
On the first day, we had a bit of a struggle getting the hot shower to work. The staff explained that the solar system hadn’t received enough sunlight, so we had to take a cold shower. Thankfully, the issue was resolved the next day, and everything worked perfectly after that.

Great location, gorgeous hotel, great staff, breakfast with coffee/ tea lovely.
Minor point/ Could provide some bottled water on arrival in the room, and each morning of the stay.
Would return in future.

Super pretty and comfortable! Lovely to see the inside of this gorgeous Newari house. Quiet at night (but busy during the day), nice and flexible staff, just by a cute and lovely village square and temple. Very lovely inner courtyard and wood carving exhibit.
For us it was not a problem at all and in fact added to the charm of the house, but people with mobility issues should be aware of the narrow and steep stairs and low doorways. The hotel makes this very clear and it surprised me to see people complain about this in the review :)
