Exceptional
I only stayed at Thon Astoria for one night, arriving after midnight because of a train delay and leaving early the next morning. Despite the late hour, the front desk was well staffed, and everyone I encountered was friendly and welcoming.
One of the staff members even took the time to help me figure out where to catch my bus the next morning, which I really appreciated.
Although I didn't have much time, I was able to enjoy a quick breakfast before leaving. There was a wide variety of fresh, well-prepared, and delicious options, making for a great start to the day.
I'd happily stay here again on a future visit to Oslo.
No complaints.

the location is central and easy to get to but in the same time the room was quiet.
the reception and lobby is so small and busy - you kind of feel unwelcome there.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful, great selection and definitely something for everyone. Hotel has a lovely courtyard area which you are free to use and it was nice to be able to sit outdoors with a tea or coffee also provided free in reception.
We had a small room which made it quite hot at night.

Breakfast exceeded expectations. Wide range and plenty of it. Central location not far to walk from railway station.
No aircon(but there was a fan). I knew when booking that there was no aircon. But there was an unexpected heatwave (32 degrees). The window had a restrictor on it so would only open a very small way. Of course I can’t hold the heatwave against them nor the lack of aircon as I knew that when booking .

Great breakfast, friendly staff and location was really great. The room was comfortable and we slept really well on the comfortable bed, having a fan really helped!
Trying to manoeuvre around the toilet to open the shower door... Just a tad cramped. Didn't realize that to lock the door you had to scan your card on exiiting, a bit strange!!!

The property in general was well maintained and managed. Check in, check out, breakfast etc worked very smoothly. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was amazing: Walking distance to the center and the central station, bus and tram stops close to the hotel as well as restaurants and shops. The room was clean and practical.
I couldn’t open the window all the way. But I do understand that it is so for safety reasons.

Breakfast was very good.
1. I have never stayed in such a small hotel room before.
2. The music from the bar next door was deafening; even with the windows closed, it was impossible to rest or sleep. It was incredibly disappointing.
3. There was no air conditioning in the room, and the dilapidated fan they provided was extremely noisy. It was unusable for sleeping. It's incomprehensible that the hotel would provide such substandard amenities for its guests.
