The staff were wonderful-competent, friendly and always ready to help.
It seems that the policy at all Scandics is to skimp on room space. To go from one side of the room to the other requires one to sidle between the queen bed and the wall. In addition, in keeping with company policy the only place to open your suitcase is on the bed or on the floor. This alone would keep me from staying at Scandic except for the location at a SOMEWHAT reasonable price for a good location and a uniformly good staff. Other comment, the dirty carpets throughout need to be replaced.

Wonderful
Extremely central location and very convenient to Oslo airport, major attractions, metro/tram lines. Very good breakfast with lots of options. Comfortable bed and cozy room. The value is great for Oslo.
I wish my room had a desk or a small chair to sit in (some rooms have the option)

Central location and breakfast buffet was great
Dirty carpet on the entire floor, very small room, shower did not work properly and turned hot and cold randomly, the room was hot but there is no thermostat so for cool air we had to open the window but as this is city center and there was road construction going on for two nights until 3am, opening the window was not great either.

Staff enabled early checkin for us, for which we were grateful. The location is at the heart of Oslo, Central. Staff was very kind and helpful.
Our room on 5th floor was pretty warm with ventilation system not helping much. However, I understand this time summers in 2025 have been pretty unexpectedly warm.

There is no AC which makes it extremely hot. They give you a very small fan that doesn’t help at all. Consider this if staying there in the summer

If I were allowed to provide a "title" for a review, it would read ... The Good, The Bad, and The Extraordinary!
First, the good ... the location was great, beds very comfortable, and the Staff very pleasant and helpful. What was extraordinary was the breakfast. An incredible amount of work goes into providing such a wonderful selection of beautiful foods. Clearly, the two gentlemen who prepare and execute the breakfast have a lot of passion for what they are doing, and do it with perfection. There is great value in the breakfast alone. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast which was provided in a very comfortable and pleasant dining room. It is a great way to start the day.
The bad ... incredibly dirty carpet in the main hallway of the floor we were on. So dirty in fact, that it left an impression that stepping on the carpet with bare feet in the room was maybe not a good idea. However, it is important to note that the room did seem quite clean in comparison to the hallway. The room was tiny, dreary, and difficult to navigate. There was no place to put luggage or anything else for that matter. No closet, but if you needed to hang a couple of things, there was a bit of space above the head of the bed to the right. Other than that, there were two hooks on the wall near the door. The bathroom was also very tiny. If you are a large person, a shower might be out of the question. Note: I am hoping that by adding photos of the dirty carpet in the hallway, management of the Scandic Grensen will address the problem. The common areas of a hotel have an impact on us. We cannot help but wonder how things look once we open the door to our room.

We liked the location and that it had a good breakfast buffet
We didn’t like that you could smell the sewage in the bathroom, the bathroom had no toilet paper dispenser so we had to use the toilet paper holder, the room had no type of decor at all, ver different from the Scandic Helsinki Hub location
