Very well placed for our purposes. We were arriving at Oslo airport late in the evening and leaving by train early the following morning. The hotel provided us with everything that we needed and the welcome (at midnight!) was particularly friendly.

The location is very convenient, right outside the main train station and walking distance to the water and sights to see. Our original room (superior fjord view) was brilliant - huge bed and bathroom and very quiet. Unfortunately it wasn't a perfect experience but had it continued as per our first night we would've been very happy!
When we arrived we were told the gym and spa were not in use, which I felt we should have been informed of in advance, as I consider these facilities we paid for and would have used. In terms of the stay itself, the first night (15th) everything was fine, but the second we had a knock on our room door approx. 5pm saying they needed to move us to a different room immediately. We were trying to get ready for a concert that evening, but packed up quickly and were escorted to reception to get a new room key. We didn't get an explanation other than 'bad planning' and we're moved to a much smaller standard room. We then discovered that the room did not lock manually, only automatically after 1 minute, but still accessible to anyone with a key card. We asked reception to fix the lock whilst we were out that evening which they said they'd do, but when we got back about 11.30pm it wasn't fixed. Given the previous room change, and without a locking door, we felt quite uncomfortable and asked reception to move us again. They moved us to a suite and said they'd add some Radisson Reward points to my account for the inconvenience (they haven't done this). We moved to the suite about midnight and found the coffee machine didn't work in the morning (not a big deal, but annoying on top of everything else!) I appreciate that some things can't be helped, but the lack of response or follow up from what I would consider a very good hotel chain is disappointing.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Plenty of toiletries, and the additional little kits (shoe shine etc) were nice touches. Elevator set up made getting to even the top floors very quick. Beautiful view of the fjord from my window (I did upgrade to a panoramic fjord view room but do feel that the description slightly oversold the actual view but it was beautiful nonetheless)
The skirting board was coming away from the wall just beside the bathroom door.
The minibar had not been restocked and there was no room service available. Whilst this was accounted for by the fact that there had been a strike affecting the hospitality trade, there was no attempt at compensation even in the form of a complimentary drink or late check-out.
The price of the room relative to Norway was good, however elsewhere I would not have paid the same for this standard of accommodation (over £250 for one night)
