Absolutely loved the Grand Hotel Oslo. The decor strikes the perfect balance between modern elegance and timeless, classic grandeur, retaining the character and charm that make a place like this so special. The bar area was wonderful, and the ambience throughout the hotel felt like stepping into a world of Norwegian royalty. Sophisticated, historic and full of character, it’s a place that makes you appreciate the finer things without losing its sense of history. A truly beautiful hotel with a very special atmosphere.
The only real disappointment was that the pool wasn’t open, as I would have liked to make use of it, especially considering the price paid for the overall experience. The restaurant food also wasn’t quite to my taste, although that’s entirely down to personal preference and may be different for others. Neither took away from the overall experience, but they’re worth mentioning.

When my wife tripped and fell near our room door the staff did not have the first aid knowledge to help effectively. We recommend such training.

The location is excellent and the breakfast was quite good. The concierge was outstanding.
The room needs some updating and was not set up for 3 people despite the reservation indicating such. I had to ask the front desk to make up the pullout couch and to provide an extra set of towels.
