The hotel is located near the city center in a very quiet and elegant neighbourhood. We stayed at room “Fru Riekeles” which is very spacious and tastefully decorated. Both breakfast and dinner were great. In the case of the breakfast, you can choose between a big variety of quality things, that should satisfy everybody’s palates. For dinner, two main hot courses plus the soup of the day and also a variety of different salads and other cold dishes, all of them well cooked. Finally, the hotel staff was very kind and helpful. To sum up: the experience in Home Hotel Gabelshus has been fantastic and has contributed to make our stay in Oslo an unforgettable holiday.

Abysmal parking slots, almost trashed our SUV trying to fit in. Shower cabins are not fully sealable so you end up wetting the floot.

The hotel is in a nice area of Oslo, beautiful interior and cosy feel. Breakfast was a nice mix of different foods. Dinner was light but good value considering how expensive Oslo is. All in all good value for the city.

Charming building with a very nice feel to the lobby and dining areas. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Best to avoid this place during warm weather. Rooms get hot.

Hotel was really nice, a home away from home! The room was a little small but we had an additional cot and bed in for our young children so that was expected! The food was pretty good!
The room wasn’t cleaned at all during our 4 night stay. I would say that despite the hotel accommodating the children - it’s not quite a child friendly hotel in terms of some of the guests! Can’t blame the hotel for that though! :)

The location is excellent, the staff are friendly and always willing to help, which made our stay truly enjoyable.
We were traveling with our baby and requested a Pilates ball from the hotel because our baby only sleeps on it. Unfortunately, the hotel was unable to provide one, so we had to bring our own from home. Later, we asked for a pump to inflate the ball, but unfortunately, they couldn’t provide that either. This was quite inconvenient for us during our stay.

Wonderful
We liked the room with the window that opened, the comfortable bed and the quiet hallways. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of cold and hot foods and the chef was very attentive to presenting and serving it each morning.
The bathroom and fixtures were small but adequate. The included suppers were good but not as stellar as the delicious breakfasts.
