Good
The location of Scandic Neptun is its selling point. The location near the harbour - where everything happens - and the fish market is just amazing! Breakfast was good. Restaurant was good. Reception was very helpful. It is a decent hotel for staying a few nights, but its really the location that speaks most for Scandic Neptun. Would go there again!
We could not enter the room on the indicated time, there was gum sticking in the floor carpet, access only worked with the keycards - so when we arrived and the room was not available we also couldn't go to the toilet in the lobby, because it is operated by the keycard. Wouldn't hold us back from going there again though.

Pleasant
Just your standard hotel, though if we leaned out our windows, we could see the colourful Bryggen houses across the water - pretty cool! Great location close to Fish Market. Had a fridge & kettle.
Could have been cleaner

Hassle-free stay, close to Bergenhus centre, good breakfast, near the “klostergarajen” and within walking distance to the hotel entrance. Very good ambience.
Not a spacious family room

Very Good
Excellent location, good breakfast.
Reception staff were very helpful, cooperative and friendly with us.
From the second night we stayed in a room in the renovated part of the hotel.
Comfortable bed.
No aircondition in the rooms, room temperature can not be adjusted in a four star hotel.
In a part of the hotel the rooms has not been renovated yet.

Very Good
Convenient location in a beautiful area. Large room with seating area and great value for money. Responsive staff.
We needed a few things fixed in our room but staff corrected these quickly. Noise from traffic on the side road that was worse with window open for fresh air.

Disappointing
Location, close to everything.
Room had one step to get into bathroom. The step sticks out and is a hazard. Very poor design. Rooms are very basic.

Exceptional
Our room was spacious, quiet, and had a balcony, from which we enjoyed a great view.
Breakfast was exceptional. The location was perfect for walking to and from a number of locations in Bergen. It is within easy reach of the bus stop for the airport transfer bus and not too far from the train station.
Nothing. This was my second stay in Bergen, and my second stay at Scandic Neptun. I will definitely book this hotel again, next time I come.

Wonderful
Great breakfast and very good location.
We didn’t noticed that we need to scan leaflet and order room cleaning. We don’t need our room to be cleaned every day. Rubbish were collected so could be towels replaced any other day if cleaner enter to anyway.

Wonderful
Given the average reviews I was very pleasantly surprised by the Scandic Neptun. Checking in was easy and the young man welcoming us was friendly, efficient and very helpful - as well as booking a taxi to the airport for us he arranged for a packed breakfast for our early departure.
The room was excellent. Large, comfortable, superb bathroom (with a real bath) and a large floor standing fan for when the room got a little warm. The beds were comfortable and having a settee to relax on was a real bonus.
The location was good being around 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal and much less to the harbourside. Breakfast was fairly busy but it was a Saturday morning, there was plenty of choice and the quality was good.
Like most hotels in Bergen it was very expensive - for the cost of our two nights we could have stayed for three in the UK and had change.
Found the lifts rather fiddly needing to scan the room key before selecting the floor number is a pain if you're carrying shopping and the key is in your pocket

Very Good
Great location, room and breakfast. Very busy with people.
There was a strike when we visited and staff seemed stressed. We had visited Oslo before Bergen and had made sandwiches from our breakfast to take with us. Unknown to us, this was not allowed at this hotel. We found out quickly when we were scolded by a staff member and told to pay (which we were happy to do- we had been unaware we needed to). The hotel was more expensive than our one in Oslo and we thought there could have been a bit more generosity. However, we also recognise that the hotel was very busy and it was well possible that such sandwich making had been abused in the past. We were happy to pay - we just didn't need to be scolded when we weren't aware.

Wonderful
location was excellent for what we needed to do. two blocks from the boat ferry terminal meant about a 6 min walk to the hotel. We had a nice view from the window. room was good no issues there. Breakfast was very good with a bid selection of food items. Coffee was available all day for free so that was a plus.

It was very convenient for the city centre, everywhere within a walkable distance.
It’s not a didn’t like but it was unfortunate that our stay coincided with strike action so restaurant & bar area not in service.
