The location was the best aspect of this stay and the location really was fantastic!
Otherwise, the hotel felt outdated, with furniture in the room scuffed and giving the feeling of being old/dirty. The pricing for our stay was exorbitant compared to what the hotel offered in terms of ambiance and comfort in the room. We stayed in much nicer hotels in Oslo and Lofoten that were nowhere near the price and were much more updated and comfortable. Have stayed at many hotels with Booking and have never given below a 9 on review.

There wasn't much to dislike about this hotel. It had a comfortable bed, a clean room, was in a great location and had a stellar breakfast. The architecture and style in the hotel was well done. The staff was friendly, open and helpful. It makes you want to seek out the other hotels in this collection.
Like all older buildings, getting up and down from room to street involved both stairs and elevators. The ongoing strike kept the waitstaff, kitchen and bell hops off the job. The restaurant was closed, however, the full breakfast and bar continued. On check in, we described how sleep deprived we were to the front desk clerk and he made sure we weren't lugging our extended stay suitcases up and down the short flights of stairs to our room. The staff made up for the negativity of the strike.

Beautiful building, well appointed rooms, lovely common area, excellent location
The most obnoxious, least friendly, pasdive-agressive desk clerk. Middle aged lady, longish gray hair, severe attitude issues. Ignored me multiple times going out of her way to pretend I was not there. No other people checking in, no other people in the bar area, just her standing at her desk pretending I was not there. Absolutely atrocious behaviour. I was not rude, demanding, difficult. I simply wanted to check in and when she said my room wasnt ready, I did not complain. Instead I said I would have a drink at the bar and wait, no problem. She brought me a bar menu and never came back. I could see her 5 metres away from me, doing nothing, but avoiding eye contact. I finally ordered from someone else and then she came over to say I could check in. I explained I had just ordered a glass of wine at which point she looked annoyed with me. Then she said she could check me in at my bar table (for the record, all I needed was my room key as I had checked in online). And again, she left and never came back. Finally there was another clerk at the check in desk and I went to see him to get my key. He was very helpful and nice. And later that night, the young man from Montenegro working the bar was friendly, hospitable and professional. As were the two waitresses at breakfast the following morning. But the woman checking me in was awful. Worst experience I had in Norway. Shame!

Room was clean. Adequate size.
Noise. No sleep every night from 11 pm to 3 am. Very loud foot traffic (assuming from nearby bar). Bed was way too soft, but staff did help with that.

Superb breakfast selections. Premium ingredients. Just delicious. There was a live piano performance during breakfast, which was so nice.
Comfortable room + spotlessly clean. Great location as well (near train station and all the attractions). Very friendly and helpful staff. We had Jakob (at the check out) and another lady at the check in. Both showed genuine care and made us feel welcome here.
Everything was nice. A very impressive stay.

Staff is incredibly kind! Decor is sophisticated. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast service was excellent. The afternoon tea experience is not to be missed- one of the top 3 for me worldwide.
Changing some of the items in the buffet breakfast every few days would have been nice.

I liked everything about the property — the building was beautiful, the rooms were so clean, stunning and comfortable and the location was absolutely perfect (within walking distance to a lot of the sights of Bergen)! The breakfast was also amazing! The best part, though, was the staff — Celine, Kartika and Theodore specifically went above and beyond in their hospitality, kindness and helpfulness to make sure I had a great stay. They were always professional, but they also made me feel like I’ve known them for much longer than two days, which immediately made me more comfortable. I started and ended my Norway trip with Opus 16, and I am so, so glad I did! Thank you for such a perfect way to start and end my trip!

For starters, the location is fantastic. It is in the city center and close to public transit, attractions, and a wide-variety of restauraunts. Next, the staff were exceptional, they were always looking for ways to make our trip special, whether that be complimentary bevarages on a cold morning, booking restauraunt reservations, or packing a breakfast to-go on our last morning. Thirdly, the rooms are beautiful. The hotel was previously a bank, but has been renovated into a luxury hotel. There is a lot of character and charm, and feels very cozy. As a bonus, the views from the rooms out onto the city center are beautiful. Cannot recommend enough. Currently, looking for an excuse to make my next trip!

The staff were very attentive and helpful. The hotel is lovely, with many cozy areas to relax in and a beautiful bar. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The nespresso coffeemaker was appreciated and the shower was huge.
