Breakfast and location
At the time of our visit there was a staff dispute affecting lots of hotels in Norway. As a result the hotel was not able to provide an evening restaurant.

Location is excellent. Nice boutique hotel. Need very comfortable
We paid extra for breakfast, and there was a tasty selection of hot and cold dishes.
Not that we didn't like it but the room was smaller than we expected. It was fine for two nights. As we were leaving for a cruise, we had two large suitcases.

Reception staff were outstanding- helpful and very friendly. I felt very welcome. The breakfast buffet was very good. Location exceptional.
USB port in the room didn't work and room lighting was poor.

We didn't get booked in till 3pm and when we got our room it was number 322 in the middle of the hotel so window didn't open as it looked down into the restaurant. We told reception that the TV didn't work so they said maintenance had left for the day they would send someone to fix it the next morning, but in fact there is no maintenance workers at a weekend and they already knew the TV in the room didn't work when they gave us the room the housekeeping girls also knew this when we asked them about it.

The location was great and staff was nice
The room was hot. There was not a coffee maker in the room. We didn't have enough towels. Room cleaning was meh.
Someone opened our door in the middle of the night!! And closed it when they realized it wasn't their room..but why were they able to unlock our room?!!!?

Rooms were cold and thermostat wouldn’t increase temperature, tv not working and lamp broken in room advised reception about this and messaged at the time of discovery and no response.

Amazing location in the centre of Bergen! Rooms were comfortable, quirkily decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and it was a great place to stay in Bergen just a short walk to the funicular and the harbour area.
There was some internal construction going on and it was a bit disorientating - but hopefully that won’t be for long. There is a lack of lifts with only one small lift serving all guests!

The room was spacious and clear.The bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent. The breakfast was good.
This is not a 4 star property. We had booked an apartment that is in the building next door to the hotel. The entrance is grubby, the lift is the same. Our TV in the room didn't work we asked 3 times before someone turned up to look at it, he couldn't fix it so another guy came back the next day and he still couldn't fix it. I don't go on holiday to watch tv but it was the attitude of the reception staff who didn't feel like is was an issue and the first guy who turned up to fix it was going home so didn't have the time to look at it properly. I think if you were going down the full self catering route in the apartment you would really struggle. I would say a 2 star is the correct rating. The actual hotel had a nice reception area

I honestly did not expect too much at first because I had read some reviews mentioning unfriendly staff and unclean rooms. However, my experience was completely the opposite. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was well organized, and the rooms were clean.
At the beginning, we received a room facing the inside of the hotel, but after asking, they kindly changed it to a much nicer room with an outdoor window and a beautiful view of the shopping street.
I know this is a 4-star hotel, but the price was still very affordable compared to many other 4-star or even 3-star hotels in the city, so my expectations were definitely exceeded.
The location is excellent. Everything is within walking distance, and we did not need public transport tickets during our entire stay. The airport is easy to reach by tram, the train station is walkable, and all the main sights in Bergen are nearby.
At the beginning, we received a room facing the inside of the hotel, but after asking, they kindly changed it to a much nicer room with an outdoor window and a beautiful view of the shopping street. (I would not be happy with a room facing inside and so possibility to open the window)
