An excellent hotel experience. Stylish, grand entrance and social spaces, a lovely spacious and stylish room. Welcoming and helpful staff. And the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Well done Scandic.
The spa was a little late to open on Easter morning.

It’s clean and very central. Comfortable beds, big room.
It’s big and felt functional. Nicely functional but nowhere you felt you could come back and curl up with a book and a drink, no real hub. Have to pay for the gym and spa and they are just ok. Didn’t use the gym but went for a look.

Excellent breakfast, helpful staff - our original room was very small, but we expected that. Upon discovering a major problem with our room climate control we were instantly offered an upgrade to a much larger and more comfortable room. Staff helped us with restaurant bookings and navigation of Begen's innovative Bybanen light rail, which picked us up about 100 yards from the hotel and delivered directly into the airport's departure terminal when it was time to leave for a cost of about $8.00. The pool/spa was wonderful.
I'm not real fond of the weird Scandinavian beds - foam mattress with an overlying pad and strange individual comforters for each person. In theory I can see the advantage of splitting the comforter because then my wife can't yank mine away at night, but it's not what I'm used to:) This also applies to their sister property in Oslo, the Oslo Grand Hotel. Nothing inherently wrong with this approach but potential guests should be aware of it. Another weird bit of Scandinavian high-concept is the weird window between the bedroom and the bath that includes a crescent of clear glass directly lined up with the toilet (see pictures attached). It also left the shaving mirror over the bathroom sink off-center, which was decidedly weird. Kind of like driving a Tesla... I also HATE the idea that a hotel of the class of the Norge feels they have to RENT UMBRELLAS to their guests. HORRIBLE local custom that I first noticed in the uber-touristy Hotel Fretheim in Flamm, but didn't expect it in an establishment like Hotel Norge (note that their fellow Scandic property the Oslo Grand did not stoop the this TERRIBLE PRACTICE). Why not rent rooms by the hour as well? Maybe they should figure out their real loss costs for umbrellas and as $.35 cents per day to the room rates? ALthough I doubt it would be even that much - who steals a full-size umbella that you cannot pack well even if they were so inclined? TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE way to cultivate a relationship with your guests - "Do you have an umbrella I can borrow?" "No, but go over the that rack and rent one for NKR 30 for 48 hours. And welcome to the Hotel Norge, sir." At the Grand Hotel Oslo the answer was "Yes sir, here you are, and enjoy your day."

We really liked the breakfast, the bed was amazing and the staff was super nice
The breakfast felt like something was missing perhaps more healthy alternatives like chia pudding, porridge etc. Really disappointed that the pool did cost money, and that children had limited pool time. The pool was the main reason that we chose the hotel

Pool and spa area was nice, hotel was clean and room was nice.
Lots of noise from nearby bars in the evening, until 3am. Couldn't have window open due to music from bars and emptying of bottles into bins. Room was warm with no perceptible change when thermostat adjusted.

The staff were very helpful, kind and charming. The breakfast was truly excellent
We chose the hotel in order that our children could use the pool. The pool is run by a separate company and we were unaware that we needed to book in to get access. This should be made clearer.
