the pool is lovely, the grounds beautiful, got upgraded to junior suite which was lovely. were worried because there was a heat wave during our stay but the room was chilled cool and very pleasant
towels were not changed for 2 nights. and mini bottles of water left . was very hot could have been ice to have big bottle in the room

The property has lots of potential.
Here's a polished review you could post on Booking.com: Disappointing Stay – Falls Short of 5-Star Expectations Everything appears to be prepared to meet the minimum requirements of a five-star hotel, but the property lacks any real character or atmosphere. It feels as though nobody genuinely cares about the guest experience. The staff seemed disengaged and uninterested. Our room was quite small, and although the weather was beautiful, there was not a single comfortable outdoor seating area where guests could relax and enjoy it. Breakfast was very limited and did not meet the standards I would expect from a hotel of this category. The air conditioning in our first room was not working, and the issue seemed beyond the staff's ability to resolve. Rather than addressing the problem efficiently, it felt as though they simply accepted it as unsolvable. Overall, everything felt as if it was operating just below the expected standard. While the hotel technically provides the amenities associated with a five-star property, the quality, attention to detail, and guest care are missing. I would not choose to stay here again.

It's a beautiful area. Lots of space for walking in nature, and Valkenburg is just a few minutes' drive away by car. The deluxe room was as described on the website. Comfortable bed, spacious walk-in shower. Breakfast a la carte was tasty, although rather limited. We didn't try the main restaurant; however, the bistro on the other side of the estate was offering a very tasty dinner. Massage treatment was excellent!
On arrival, be prepared to walk some 10 metres from the road to the hotel entrance. During a busy weekend, you need to be prepared for overcroweded spa area and slow service in the breakfast salon. To be honest, couldn't find any difference between the declared 5-star superior quality and just a good 4-star hotel with a spa. Overpriced, overall.

A well deserved 5 star chateau experience. Our second stay here, lovely as the first time. Highly recommend Chateau St Gerlach.
