We loved stayingbon the SS Ritterdam its our hotel of choice when we stay in Rotterdam. We have stayed many times over the last & half two years. The staff are wonderful thectooms are impecably maintianed, a real time capsul. On a previous trip we did the full Ships tour which takes a good couple of hours. We met the ships cat
There is only one thing we dont like the very expensive car park costs over €20 a day it should be half that cost or free like staying in a Van der Valk Hotel / Hilton

The ship is beautifully maintained and a real time capsule of midcentury style. It was a definite highlight of our recent trip to Europe. It is physically close to the city but not walkable. UBER and Water Taxis are best option. Recommend visiting the Euro Mast which is lovely in itself and affords excellent views of the ship and Rotterdam from just across the harbour. Breakfast which was included was excellent. The guides many of whom sailed on her in her day were so knowledgeable and friendly. Lovely sitting at bar on stern watching sun set. Highly recommended.
Not enough staff on the rear pool/bar area - they at times could be inattentive. It's a thing these days I know but not all of us like ordering drinks from a QR code. More staff in the poolside bar please!

The view, the tour that came with the room was great, the experience of sleeping on a boat is what made it for us.
The mooring line kept knocking and kept us up for hours.
Also the people above us were very noisy so the rooms arnt that soundproof.
It's quite a bit out the way as well, no restaurants or anything in the area apart from the ones on the boat (which our dinner at the lido was fantastic!)

The breakfast is amazing, the room was exceptional, beds are great, location is on the south side of the city with easy access to public transport (bus, metro, water taxi and waterbus). Overall Rotterdam has so much to offer and I would highly recommend a visit.
One thing to watch out for in the summer season that the water taxi can be quite busy. If you do not book it in advance you might need to wait up to 1 hour to get one. Booking in advance is easy when you download the app.

Captains Bar was a pleasant place for a drink.
Room was too crowded for comfort. Breakfast was overcrowded. Lunch was slow. Views from our special cabin were industrial. Taxi service was abysmal. We overrun our dinner meeting with two Rotterdam friends by one hour just because we waited for the taxi linked to the hotel. 10 mins wait became 50 mins wait

A great atmosphere, good facilities and very clean.
While it has been refurbished, the Rotterdam has kept as much as possible of the original furnishings to retain the atmosphere of this historic passenger ship.
