Originality of the place in a boat is fun, and the rooms are decorated in a nice way. Bed and bathroom comfortable as well, and fairly close to nice areas of Rotterdam.

Liked the breakfast and the staff on reception and breakfast was really good.
We asked for water during dinner didnt k ow it costs, and also things weren't explained, like that we had to flag staff down to order drinks. But thats probably a cultural difference.
I wouldnt stay there again wasn't amazing wasn't bad just probably won't go back.

I'm glad the ship is being preserved. Check in was pretty easy and the reception staff with pleasant. The room was fine, but keep in mind this is an old ship, not a modern hotel.
The location is very remote. Whether you go by shuttle to the metro, water taxi or a very expensive Uber ride, it's not easy to get to any other amenities while you on board. Hotel guests only have access to the rooms, a bar and a restaurant. If you want to see anything else, it's a extra charge and only open between 10-5. You can't even go outside on the deck. Frankly, it felt like a fire trap when everything was locked up for the night. The former public rooms on the tour appeared mostly empty of furniture and lifeless. The halls were dirty with disgusting stains on the carpet. The staff in the restaurant and bar were inattentive and slow. I sat at the bar for quite a while the lone bartender filled backed-up orders. I finally gave up and walked out. Basically, the SS Rotterdam is a just an old, tourist class hotel in a bad location.

Pleasant
Staff were great. Food was superb!
Parking not included in the price, considering the price of staying a night and the fact it’s quite a way out from Rotterdam centre, I’d expect it to be included for guests.
So much of the ship is restricted for tours. Again, considering the price, I don’t understand why the whole ship wouldn’t be available to those staying a night or more.

Wonderful
You go to SS Rotterdam because it is a former transatlantic steamship, and you can visit (highly recommended), stay a night in a real cabin and take breakfast and dinner 'on board'. The cabin had no windows, but it had the genuine feeling of a cruise cabin, and a comfy bed with a large enough bathroom. There were old 50's cabin furniture as well. The decks and the bars are great with a feeling to jump back into the 50's. You spend time in a 'live museum' somehow, and representative of the city history!
bars could be open longer to enhance the cruise atmosphere.

History, game, view. Staff is amazing. Close to the new Fenix museum and water taxi.
Central airconditioning was too cold at mid night, not enough blanket, and no way to turn it down even contact the team. Reaching out with booking chat to contact staff but the chatbot didn't direct to make it work.

Wonderful
Upgrade to a spacious first class suite, near reception and restaurant-/bar area. Good quality, sumptuous breakfast (supplement). Good connection by Water-taxi to North shore of the river.
Poor signposting to find your way around below deck for a first time visitor. Metro station rather distant on foot, too far out when carrying luggage. A taxi is required. When leaving a courtesy electric shuttle bus will bring you to the nearest subway station-/ metro station.
