Very Good
The staff was very accommodating and nice. The service was perfect.
Breakfastbuffet seemed fresh and the kitchen offers to cook you eggs if you’d like.
Location close to stores, restaurant and bars but could be only slightly better.
It wasn’t very soundproof so you could hear that people were talking in their rooms when you stood in the hallway.

Poor
Unfortunately, not much. Car parking available. Not far to walk to Rotterdam centre.
£35 cost for car parking in local garages. Surprise £25 a night cost for pets, which I felt was expensive. No response to enquiries about this. Small single room, small service lift and/or steep stairway, damage, burn marks on window sill. This turned out to be probably the most expensive hotel on my trip and the worst.

Good
The staff was great. Friendly and willing to help.
The location is good, close to Rotterdam Centraal - gives you a lot of options for public transport.
The price was really competitive.
Not much to dislike. The facilities are quite small and they lack a bit of more modern touch, but quality vs price ratio is excellent.

Very Good
This is a very nice budget hotel with all you need and no more. I had a single room with ceiling fan, which coped with an unusually hot weekend. The staff were helpful and the amenities were good. The position of the hotel is great.

Wonderful
I had an very very pleasant stay. All the staff was super kind and thoughtful. I arrived earlier than the check in time and left Rotterdam after the check out time and they allow to store the bag at the hotel, which is a huge benefit! I also requested a mini fridge in the room, not knowing if this would be possible, which would be totally understandable if not possible, but they did provide me a room with a mini fridge so I was very happy! Overall the room had all the ammenities I needed and that they described here in Booking, was very cosy and clean, and the breakfast was very nice.
They requested that whenever we leave the building we give them the keys to the room at the reception which I saw as positive because there wouldn't be the risk of losing the key while outside.
Lastly, the room also had a fan on the ceiling and a heater in the room, in my case I visited in June so I used the fan to refresh the room because it got a bit too hot, and it was great!
I want to say a huge thank you to the staff, you're doing a great job :)
Unfortunately there were some mosquitos in the bedroom, I think there were 3. It was a bit of an issue at night, because I got stung, but maybe that's a problem in the Netherlands, I dont know. It's natural that there are mosquitos during summer, but maybe the hotel could take precautions during summer, like add some kind of anti mosquito spray in the room between the hours of check out and check in (so between 11am and 2pm) to kill any mosquitos that could be inside.
There was a dispenser in the bathroom with some kind of washing gel, which they did mention in their ammenities, but maybe they could provide a shampoo and showed gel separately like in little bottles, as some hotels do. I didn't get affected by this because I brought my own showed products with me, but in case someone doesn't, that dispenser wouldn't be enough. It wasn't a major dealbreaker for me though.
The mattress on the bed was a bit too soft, like I read in some of the coments in here before booking, so I wasn't surprised, and I don't totally hate soft mattresses but this one was a bit too much and you'd sink in it. I was able to fall asleep fine nonetheless. However the pillows aren't very comfortable. They were big, which is very good, but were a bit uncomfortable.
Finally, the sounds travel a lot through the walls. It wasn't a huge problem for me, mostly because my room wasn't next to any other room, so I didn't hear any noise coming from other guests' rooms. But my room was next to the elevator so I would listen to people arriving at the floor. I never woke up from it during the night, but I'm a bit of a heavy sleeper, so maybe someone more sensitive would have issues with this.
Overall, all these things are not dealbreakers for me, but could be for someone! I enjoyed my stay despite this and I would come back again!

Good
I like Breitner's centrality and affordability when I work in Rotterdam, but it's the staff that turns this very basic hotel into something quite special. They are always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It can be somewhat hit and miss with the room assignments, but this time I lucked out. Even when I have a smaller room, it's still perfectly fine for a few nights. I didn't get breakfast this time, but it's typical, includes fresh (eggs made to order), and costs the standard rate of hotel breakfasts.
The neighbors on my floor were very loud, but that's not the fault of the hotel. I missed having a kettle in my room, but maybe they are available if you ask.

Exceptional
I booked this one for other people and they couldn’t be happier. Really no complain whatsoever from them. They even said that next time they visit me they will be staying here.
Not something that they disliked but maybe a suggestion to put a barrier or safe door on the stairs close to the rooms (not the one next the elevator) since it is too step and if you’re a bit distracted coming out of your room you could fall. Steps are too narrow there so a fall could be pretty bad.

Wonderful
Small family-run hotel with a great location. The rooms are small, but the furnishings are so well thought out. Everything you need is available. Very clean and hygienic. Rooms were cleaned daily. Always fresh towels available. Very well-kept rooms.
Breakfast was good with lots of wholemeal bread, muesli, sausage and cheese, ....
Staff very nice.
The nearest metro station (Endrachtsplain) is about 7 minutes away on foot. With line B you can reach Hoek van Holland beach in 40 minutes. Really great.
The price-performance ratio is very good.
Really highly recommend this hotel.

Very friendly staff! They helped us with an adapter when ours didn’t work - very nice! They also organized a cab for us. The breakfast was delicious with many options to choose from. A great central location too! We would go back again.

It's an old building with a very small lift, and cracky floors. Though it did its job.
