This was our first trip to Holten (and the area in general) and we are so lucky to have picked this property! Its a family run hotel that is cozy and professional at the same time. From the ambience to the decorations, every detail is thoughtfully taken care of.
The hotel staff was super helpful, courteous, and friendly. We travelled with our newborn and a small dog. Everything was arranged beautifully for us before arrival and every request we made was met. We did not feel for a moment that we were in a commercial establishment.
The hotel is in midst of a nature reserve / wooded area and has expansive grounds that blend into the surroundings. Minimal gates and fences allow you to walk around freely. We counted at least 5 paths leading back to the hotel from different directions! Our little doggo loved it!
We highly recommend that you have dinner in-house and experience the chef's cooking. The portions are filling and recipes wholesome. The deserts are the best we have had in non-fine dining in Netherlands. Pets are allowed in the breakfast area. If you want to share a table with your pets for lunch or dinner, let the hotel know that they will make arrangements for it.
Overall, we loved this place and will be staying there whenever we are in Holten or nearby. My wife demanded that I login and post this review.
The bathrooms showers can use a bit of upgrade. The cleanliness was top notch though and the bathroom was quite spacious.
Nothing else comes to mind.

Lovely place in the forest right on the Pieterpad trail.
Unfortunately our reservation got cancelled by the hotel in the last minute but the owner took very good care of us. Took is to a similar hotel near by and really spoiled us during our stay.
I would recommend to stay there.

Breakfast was very good, Fresh orange juice (not concentrate) and great coffee! I was also provided with a packed lunch upon request which was above and beyond expectation
More choices for dinner would have been nice. The menu was fixed with a choice of 3,4 or 5 courses. Food was good but more choice would be better....

Have been here multiple times; always a delight staying at Hoog Holten. Nice location, very friendly staff trying to let you feel honored. The quality at the restaurant is pretty impressive. Good breakfast. Also appreciated the charging point for EV's.
Good value for money.
In our room, the sound of the front door closing was clearly audible in our room and somewhat annoying, but it stopped roughly around 22:30 hrs.
