The tub is high, slippery and the water comes out. Then we have to clean that up. The toilet paper is hard... but thats in NL all over.

Location was easy to get to and from. Room was clean and offered enough space.
Reserved a king bed room but without being provided an explanation, was placed into a queen “family” room. Upon questioning the deviation, was told I was “upgraded” to the queen family room due to no king rooms available. For 2 people this room was enough but 3+ would have been cramped. No close dining options within walking distance if not traveling by car.

Pleasant
Reception desk (a very competent receptionist from Sicily greeted me on arrival) was excellent and efficient. The restaurant staff was very nice, and very good (particularly Rico is impressive in even anticipating needs of his guests), the restaurant food was decent (both breakfast and dinner).
The hotel did not have bicycles for lending out - not so great in the Netherlands (also, I believe they would have been too expensive if they had not been under repair).
More troublingly, there was plenty of dirt under my bed, including a used drinking can (which was there upon my arrival and stayed there during my stay). Open surfaces were ok, though the shower bottom was partly worn and yellow. Bedsheets were clean though.

Wonderful
A comfortable and spacious room and super comfy bed and linen. The included breakfast had a good spread of hot and cold options. Just what's needed to kick start the day. The restaurant has got the basics and the important dimensions covered.
It's a bit of a walk from Centraal Station. Or you could chicken out and take a bus. The walk is pleasant and safe. It's like you're going through the suburbs and pass various university buildings along the way.

Best price with very nice big rooms and comfortable beds, spacious tub/shower. Mini fridge and coffee/tea maker in the room, nice big TV. Decent restaurant downstairs with excellent service. Laundry and dry cleaning services available, and also a washer and dryer upstairs down the hall from the nice gym. The dryer was broken but the staff took my bag of washed clothes and dried them for free. Excellent customer service all around.
It’s a bit of a walk to the bus-stops to get into the center of Leiden. The hotel is located in the science park with no other shops or restaurants right nearby. Although, there is a very good Thai street food restaurant where you can do sit down or take out just a short walk through the park and the food there was very good also.

The location of the hotel was convenient, and the room was comfortable. They will clean the room everyday.
The front desk staff were extremely rude during check-in, questioning me simply because I postponed my reservation by one day. Although I clearly said I did not want breakfast, the hotel still charged me €110 for it at checkout. They falsely claimed the charge would be refunded within 48 hours, but when I followed up, they refused, saying it had already been “half a month” (though only 10 days had passed) and that they could not verify whether I had used the breakfast. This felt dishonest and misleading.

The lobby and buffet area look nice, as does the room.
Although when entering the lobby, it does feel weird being greeted by multiple prominently placed vending machines and display cases with croissants at the main desk. IMHO, it conflicts with the expected presentation of a 4 star hotel and invokes the feeling of a high school cafeteria.
The hotel reception crew was very cold and interested. Don't expect a welcoming check-in.
Also the size and variation of the breakfast buffet is very limited, especially if you consider the price. Absolutely not good value.
Another disgusting trend I noticed is the lack of trash bags inside bins. Trash has to be collected as is and I don't think the cleaning crew does anything other than simply emptying. Very hygienic... Bring back the bags!
In addition, the underground parking is dark and narrow and is NOT included in the price. Since there are no alternative public parking spots, just count an extra €19 per day. It would've been more customer friendly to include this in the room price IMHO.

The room is very comfortable and we could easily fit with 3 people (two ados), there is a lot of choice for breakfast, easy access from a highway
The room to accommodate three people was not prepared (sofa bed made, additional towels, additional tea bag for example! ), but worst - the receptionist was very bothered when I asked for it, as if it was my problem not her. They billed me a cost of parking that I did not use. In sum, poor management and organization and unfriendly staff.
