Welcome to Vaeshartelt, the place where history and nature form the backdrop for celebrating life! Our beautiful 17th-century estate combines history with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Once the home of King William II and later of industrialist Petrus Regout, Vaeshartelt is now yours to discover! Stroll through our green park including a vineyard, vegetable garden, fruit trees and a picturesque pond. Discover the Secret Garden or relax under centuries-old trees. For those who like to be active, beautiful walking and cycling routes start from the estate through the Limburg Heuvelland, along the Meuse and through charming villages. In the castle, you will find Bistro Els, where we cook with love for the region. We use as many products from our own land as possible or purchase products locally. Fresh and tasteful! Our rooms in the adjoining hotel wing are comfortable and practically furnished, with a private bathroom and everything you need for a pleasant stay. And the best part? You can park for free at the accommodations, so you don't have to worry about a thing! Vaeshartelt is only a few minutes' drive from Maastricht. From P+R Maastricht-Noord, a bus leaves for the city center every 15 minutes, so you can be in the heart of the city within 5 minutes. Valkenburg and the picturesque Heuvelland are also easily accessible by car or bicycle. Vaeshartelt is the place to celebrate life, surrounded by nature and yet close to the city.

Convenient when coming by car, as the hotel offers large free parking, and the bus stop to Maastricht city is just a short walk.

Location, the staff, the food and a good nights sleep.
Strange layout of rooms on first floor which is actually below the ground floor. The toilet area is also very cramped.

All was perfect. Beds are extraordinarily comfy.
Our room was in the lower floor which meant that the room didn't have a scene. We were looking at a wall. This was really unpleasant as the hotel had a marvellous outdoor space.

The sprawling campus took our heart away. It was so calm and serene an ambiance that we fell in love with the property within minutes. We took long walks within the property, through the woods, grounds at the back, checking on the sheep, bees and birds around the campus. We saw rabbits and squirrels too. It was splendid! You can't find a better place close to nature yet so close to the city of Maastricht. It is only a 10 minute walk to the bus stop near Maastricht North station, and bus 10 takes you to the city centre in 15 minutes. Uber also knows the place pretty well in case you want to get a late transport. Special mention to the staff and their warm hospitality. We loved our interaction starting at check-in till the last day of our stay. We found nooks and corners in the property that are pretty secluded even during the busiest of times, and you can unwind completely on your own if you want. Although the property is dog friendly and you see many guests bring their dogs with them, you can occasionally catch a glimpse of the house cat, Mia. We were fortunate to spend a lazy evening with her in the backyard near the fish pond -- absolute bliss! The room was quite spacious and well appointed. The overall cleanliness of the property is spectacular. We loved our stay and will choose this place every time we are in Maastricht.
The only downside of the property for us was the limited option for food. The onsite bistro offers a limited menu, and is only accessible by reservation. If you miss any, there are no other good places around the property for a quick bite. It would have been nice to have a snack bar or quick bites available in addition to the restaurant. The breakfast, although has many options, was not the best at this price point. However, that is the only option available as the bistro does not serve breakfast. Apart from the food options, we have no complaints at all.

The location is super nice. Breakfast was also good. We were allowed to stay with the dog and take her to the breakfast which is nice.
The room should be definitely renovated. The walls and furniture is full of scratches, weird stains etc. There are no slippers in the rooms and its not really nice to walk if you are not sure about the cleaning. The curtains had disgusting stains on them as well. The dog’s bed that hotel offers should be thrown away and replaced. The dog’s stay costs 25 euros. I am very disappointed about the quality and the standard of the room.

Disappointing
I was really sick after drinking the water from the bottle in the bistro. There must be bacteria in the bottle.
