I think that this hotel has too many negative reviews. Sure: The hotel is a bit old and some overall renovations would make the rooms nicer. However, my stay was definitely super comfortable and I was not missing anything important.
As I said, the rooms are a bit old, and a bit more maintenance would be appreciated. Also the check-in process should be made a bit smoother. They try to cut down a bit on personnel, and have this self check-in process automated, but there are better ways of doing this. Be prepared for a bit of a complicated experience

Location
My room was up two flights of stairs. Requested our rooms together and they were not. Dark in hallways. Not good light in room. No airco in room. TV did not work, no signal nor channels.

I really enjoyed the location that is so close to the city center. We had room with view to the garden, and I have to say that view is awesome. Clean room, very good breakfast (highly recommended) with home made boiled or scramble eggs and more.
Air condition in the room was working but not much effectively.

location is great in the middle of the center close by the vrijthof. ideal is your visiting Andre Rieu. Breakfast was also very nice
There is nobody to greet you. A non personal computer to check in. I hate those things. Then the door app didn't work. So i had to call the reception of a other hotel. A lot of things were broken in room. Like doorhandles, lights. shower head and faucet and the overall cleanness was not very good. A/c was making a lot of noise. even when it was turn off.
