Rooms were old.
Curtains were dirty.
The bed and the pillows were severely uncomfortable.
The mattress was slipping-off the bed constantly.
There is not even a simple closet to put any clothes.
Extremely overpriced for a business trip.
I guess everybody is heavily profiting out of the "Andre Rieu" shows.
It has been 6 weeks over my stay at the hotel.
Despite several on-line and whatsapp requests, the hotel do not send an official invoice for my stay.
Booking.com is also irresponsive to my requests for an invoice.

While checking in the gentleman at the front the desk was friendly, professional and very helpful. I believe his name was Jetti (?). Or rooms neat clean, and comfortable. I not sure how well the air conditioner worked because there was such a nice breeze coming through the windows I really didn't use the air conditioner. Parking was easy to find- and park.
My only suggeston would be to have water available as first come into the hotel. It's a little thing, and it is so nice after a day of travel to come into a hotel and have a glass of water.

Great location, a few minutes' walk away from downtown. Easily accessible by public transportation to get to and from the trainstation and also to the MECC conference center.
Very nice and helpful staff that did their best to help and make sure you are taken care of.
Comfortable bed and nice water pressure in the shower. Room facilities of coffee maker, tea kettle, refrigerator and safe were great. Also good side room.
Breakfast was good and they offered to make your egg your way, options of vegetables and fruit, quite satisfactory.
The hotel needs some upkeep.
The pillows of the bed were huge, and thus not comfortable.
My corridor smelled of cigarette smoke to such extend, that I had to switch rooms. The room I switched to didn't lock, so I switched again.
The gym had unfortunately no weights and was not clean with lots of dust on the floor.. Also no towels present in the gym and no option to clean the cardio machine after use. Too bad, because they have enough space there to set up a (basic) weight section and make sure it's clean so the experience would be much nicer.

Inflated prices for quite an ordinary hotel because of TEFAF which isn't surprising so I really can't complain.

Wonderful
recently stayed at Bastion Hotel Maastricht and had a very pleasant experience overall. The hotel is conveniently located just outside the city center, making it a great base for exploring Maastricht while still enjoying a quieter environment.

Location was very convenient but thought the room was very basic for the price. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Disappointing
It’s a list of things:
- we had no towels and when we did get them we got only 2 small ones and there were no more big towels available
- the curtains were missing a few hooks which resulted in them hanging loosely and letting through light
- the metal plate of the shower drain was not inside the drain itself
- the toilet brush was upside down in its container
- beds were not made properly and almost immediately was loosened
Paying for a 4 star hotel should mean that these things are in order. Things like these I’d expect to happen at a local student hostel, not a well established hotel chain with 4 stars.
