Wonderful
We liked the location, the proximity to sites, restaurants, shops and to public transportation (trams, metro). The building itself is very nice (several buildings, actually), and the apartment was lovely and spacious, really great to give us all enough personal space when needed. The huge windows were a real bonus, bringing in lots of light. The furniture is nice and modern, and there are three televisions! The staff were helpful and friendly. On the whole, this was a very positive experience and we can recommend the Wittenberg wholeheartedly.
The kitchen was not as well equipped as one would expect: needed were paper towels, a cloth towel, a dish rack, more plates and cutlery, more tea bags and sugar, and maybe even some salt and pepper. Short term visitors do not expect to buy these basics--especially as this is not a budget hotel... A small thing: upon leaving for the airport, I noticed there are many hotel bikes parked outside the lobby. It would have been nice to be made aware of these upon arrival, so that we could take advantage of this. Also, having to ask for toilet paper a couple of times from the front desk people was a bit awkward (stayed a week). But these are all very minor issues that did not spoil our very good experience at this hotel!

We loved the location, the customer service and all the amenities and facilities they offer. The property is very near tram and metro stations, supermarkets and restaurants, but far enough from the city crowds. The area nearby is very peaceful and lovely.
The property has no cooling, only heating which forced us to keep a window open to mantain our preffered room temperature. Could only lower the temperature but not turn off the system, but still felt too warm for us.

Spacious apartment all the necessary amenities, comfortable bed and sofa. Good water pressure on the shower. Amazing location 5 minutes from the tram, we loved that is a little far from Amsterdam's tourist area but you can get there pretty quickly using the tram or the subway.
Kitchen could have some seasonings like a salt and pepper and sugar kit. Gym could be better equipped.

It was so quiet. Easy to get to tram to central but far enough away from all the chaos!
Like a lot of historical buildings in the area there is no AC but it was perfect weather so we did not need it at all. I do think they should provide fans in case it’s too hot for people.

Fair
The location was pretty nice, and the staff was polite. Overall, the apartment was in good condition, and the beds were comfortable. There is a gym attached, but it doesn't have a lot of equipment. It was an okay experience.
The apartment was on the ground floor with people walking by on both sides of the building, so having blinds down all the time was necessary to keep some privacy. The apartment has no AC, and it's hard to ventilate as only some windows open (just a few centimeters at an angle), but that seems to be the case for most buildings in Amsterdam.

Close proximity to a variety of places; Also just the property itself felt very safe. All the staff we encountered, especially Neive, were exceptionally helpful and kind.
The lack of AC

Was a great place to stay for our holiday - easy walk to downtown / public transport. Nice bathroom facilities and stocked kitchenette.
Walls were a bit thin as we could hear a neighbors baby crying through a night, but other than that not too bad.

The on site staff were great and the property is nice. Great location and modern, clean units with lovely canal views.
My only complaint about this property is not the facility itself, but communication leading up. I had family meeting in Amsterdam for a week from 3 locations, and rented 2 apartments way ahead of time. This is run by a corporation based in the UK, and it's clear that there is no priority regarding human communication to ease stress. I tried repeatedly to get support regarding whether my relatives, who flew for hours overnight and arrived early morning, could check in early, or leave bags, as well as whether the apts. were nearby each other, etc. and never got any responses other than solicitations to upgrade to more expensive units. Eventually we were offered a 1pm check in with an additional fee (automated message); an extra 2 hours hardly mattered at that point. In fact, the property has a VERY comfortable lobby with plenty of seating, as well as a spacious coffee lounge where my family could have waited until check in, whether at 1pm or 3pm. (Aren't these kinds of amenities reflected in the price?) As it turned out, my poor family (including my 84 year old father in law!) waited for hours in the hectic train station after redeye flights, until we arrived. If a human had bothered to read my messages and consider the situation, I would have been able to offer options so they didn't have to start their vacation so badly. Since I tried repeatedly to get out in front of the problem, the lack of support or information is very annoying and unnecessary-- get some real customer service and don't pretend it doesn't matter.
