Exceptional
The location of The Times Hotel is great. Central Station is an easy 15 walk. The beds were very comfortable. We stayed in a canal view room. The windows opened which added to the experience of seeing and hearing boats go by. The staff was pleasant and welcoming.

Great location, it was clean, had cute decor, the room size was great and the staff was friendly.
The narrow staircase when trying to take up and bring down my luggage was frustrating. I opted for a hotel with an elevator only to not have elevator access.

Easy walking distance to metro and places throughout the downtown area
Stairs were a little difficult for some of the group. The staff helped get the luggage up and down.

That I had to schedule a breakfast time. It was clean enough but I dropped something and under the bed was pretty bad.

The location was perfect. We could easily access everything we wanted to do and see. It was also quiet.t
Based on location, The Times Hotel has so much potential. However, they are missing several key components:
1) The hotel is dated and tired. It makes it seem dirty. There is nothing attractive about the rooms.
2) Get some new towels! I have travelled extensively and stayed in many different kinds of hotels. I have never encountered towels so threadbare and raggy. For the rates charged, I think they could at least provide decent towels.
3) Finally, I think the people who work there are mssing a key component of the hospitality industry…be Hospitable!
They staff were so unfriendly and borderline surly.

Wonderful
The location - in a quiet street on one of the canals - is excellent. A 12 minute walk (with luggage) from the central railway station and only 7 minutes from Anne Frank's House in one direction and the main Dam square in the other.
Breakfast was fresh and very good value and our experience of the staff was very friendly and helpful.
We didn't have a room with a view, but it was very comfortable and clean!
