Location was excellent, right in the heart of the old city but on a quiet, pretty street on a canal. A lovely local bar nearby. The hotel was lovely and staff were friendly. Our room was bigger than we expected and very clean and comfy with air con, plus kettle, fridge etc. Was quieter than expected too!
Always prefer 2 pillows at a hotel but that's a minor point!

Good location and comfortable beds
We were staying on level 1 and it was only accessible by stairs that were very very steep and small. Made it hard to not only just walk up and down them but also extremely hard to take our luggage up and down. Was quite pricey, and considering the room, not too sure what made it as expensive as it was

The hotel is well located in Nege Straatjies.
Our room unfortunately had stains on the mattress, which we raised with the hotel during our stay, but this was never attended to. While the hotel is very charming and photographs beautifully, the room itself felt quite worn and tired. There were noticeable stains on the carpets, hair in the bathroom, and, when we requested fresh towels, we unfortunately found hair on those as well.
For a hotel of this nature, we expected a considerably higher standard of cleanliness and upkeep, particularly given how lovely the property appears in its photographs.
