Location, staff, breakfast
This is our fifth stay at Grand Sofitel. We always come to this hotel and have a great time. However, there are a few issues that need immediate attention: 1. Shower glass is getting old and water is invariably leaking out to fill the bathtub. 2. Terrible spa facility with broken jacuzzi, water jets in pool and lack of any attendant. 3. Despite a clear sign that kids can’t come to the pool after 6 pm. The pool is often filled with kids playing and shouting and splashing which is VERY disturbing. Despite alerting the front desk staff, NOTHING was done! 4. OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive for the value you get in return. These things have to be fixed ASAP

I loved absolutely everything. I loved the beautiful hotel, the gorgeous room, the super comfortable bed, the view of the canal, how quiet it was, the delicious food, great cocktails, exceptional service… The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating or hospitable. The location was absolutely perfect. It could not have been a better location. And I would give the hotel five stars all day long!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The hotel is tired and outdated. The room had gross carpet. The hotel star rating is wrong as its too outdated and old to be considered a high end hotel. The staff was highly professional and friendly though.
The old, tired carpet and outdated fixtures and the feel that the everything around me was just really tired looking.

The location was fantastic. The beds are incredibly comfortable. Loved the cosmetic soaps supplied - diptyque. The front desk staff are very helpful.
The rooms are quite small with little cupboard space. Don't turn down your beds and refresh towels in the evenings.

Excellent service in an excellent hotel! No complaint at all. Loved the indoor pool and sauna during the cold winter. Very attentive staff at the marvelous breakfast buffet able to remember my preferences better than me.

Everything was good, that is why this is our only choice when traveling to Amsterdam, which we do often... until we woke up without hot water the last day of our stay. Problems happen and I believe the hotel compensated fairly gor the problem. Hopefully they give good maintenance to their equipment to avoid these awful situations.

Beautiful Room and very comfortable bed. Bathroom was also very nicely designed. Spa/Gym was great too. Decor of common areas was beautiful.
