Rho is on the edge of Dam Square, half a mile from Amsterdam Central Train Station. It has free Wi-Fi and the lobby is an impressive Art Deco-style former theater. All of the rooms at Rho Hotel include satellite TV and a refrigerator. They also each have a private bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is served each morning in the dining room which overlooks Dam Square. It includes a selection of bread, cereals and a few warm dishes including scrambled eggs. There is a small bar and vending machines in the lobby for snacks and drinks such as coffee. Hotel Rho is 175 yards from the Kalverstraat shopping area and from the Dam Square tram stop. The Anne Frank House and Rembrandt House Museum are both within a 10-minute walk of the hotel.

This is an excellent hotel. From check-in to check-out, I experienced outstanding service. The reception staff are very helpful, available, and welcoming. Even before and during the email exchanges to confirm the reservation, Mr. Christian and his colleagues were all very responsive and provided invaluable assistance. The breakfast was excellent, and especially the welcome from Ms. Martina. A very smiley, welcoming young woman with an angelic smile. Having traveled extensively worldwide and stayed in several 5-star hotels and even palaces, I can confirm, without exaggeration, that the Rho Hotel deserves its place among the best 5-star hotels.

The location and the price
No tea or coffee facilities in the room, had to pay for them in the lobby, very noisy location/ room, Also certain guests where very loud at early hours of the morning, alot of slamming doors (not soft close)

It was nice to be close to wonderful bakeries and the boats. The walking distance to main attractions in Amsterdam was none too far.

The proximity to attractions was great. The staff were also wonderful. They were friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed the breakfast they served in the morning.
The layout of the hotel was kinda crazy. With a lot of stairs in random places. Also, it is an older hotel and looks so.

The staff was helpful and the room was comfortable
Parking fee per night was high, very hard to find the front of the hotel by car. No place in bathroom for items to sit and hair dryer didn't work. No chair for the desk to be able to do work

Good location, literally at the city centre so very easy to go anywhere. Decent room though it's not very soundproof as you could hear the neighbours talking. If you have luggages, there's lift available.
The lighting in the room was quite dim. Another issue was that there was mold in the fridge, which indicates that the housekeeping team did not check or clean it properly. We raised this issue with the reception team. Due to the language barrier, they did not understand what “mold” was and assumed that the fridge was not working. I had to Google an image of mold and show it to them. The staff member then said he understood, acknowledged the issue, and said he would ask housekeeping to clean the fridge. This was in the morning. When we returned later, the mold was still there. I went back to reception and spoke to another staff member, who said that housekeeping had checked the fridge and confirmed that it was working. I then had to explain again that the fridge was working, but that there was mold inside it. At that point, we were unsure whether it would be cleaned, and since we were checking out the next day, we eventually gave up.

The shower curtain was too long for the tub / shower. Water dropped a lot onto the floor after the shower. Had to use use large towels to wipe it up.

Staffs were very nice.l, particularly, a female staff at the front desk. The phone charger plug I brought from the U.S. didn’t fit the socket in the hotel room. When I asked at the front desk, she kindly lent me one. I really appreciated it. I wasn’t such lucky when I stayed at the hotel in Frankfurt l, Germany. I had to buy a new charger plug. Also, the location is great.

The 2 rooms were perfect for our family, though not having doors limited some of the privacy. The included continental breakfast was amazing and definitely a highlight of the accommodation! Also really appreciated the accommodation having a lift as we had 2 large suitcases and multiple backpacks / bags with us. I know a lot of accommodations in Amsterdam do not have lifts available and we did not want to lift our cases up flights of stairs.
The street alongside the hotel had several loud people shouting through the night, and trucks rolling up loading / offloading stuff, all which impacted sleep due to the noise. The local areas also had a strong marijuana smell, which was not idea for our family - however, this is more an oversight of us booking this accommodation in it's location, rather than something a little further out of Amsterdam. I think this would be a perfect accommodation if you were wanting to partake in this or the RLD due to it's location, but perhaps less perfect for a family vacation.

We were visiting during the winter, therefore the location was important so we will be close to the center. The room got very warm very fast which was good due to the cold weather.
Its giving the vibe a bit of a motel (a bit shady)
