Rho is on the edge of Dam Square, half a mile from Amsterdam Central Train Station. It has free Wi-Fi and the lobby is an impressive Art Deco-style former theater. All of the rooms at Rho Hotel include satellite TV and a refrigerator. They also each have a private bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is served each morning in the dining room which overlooks Dam Square. It includes a selection of bread, cereals and a few warm dishes including scrambled eggs. There is a small bar and vending machines in the lobby for snacks and drinks such as coffee. Hotel Rho is 175 yards from the Kalverstraat shopping area and from the Dam Square tram stop. The Anne Frank House and Rembrandt House Museum are both within a 10-minute walk of the hotel.

The location is ideal for walking to most attractions and sites.
Although it is an historic property it does need some attention. The carpets are worn and tattered. The lighting is dim in the rooms despite all fixtures being lit. Better insulation between rooms is also recommended. Beds are very hard and not very comfortable. I love the fact that it was an old theatre converted to a hotel. The lobby is very unique. All said. It just needs a bit of paint, new carpet, better lighting would go a long way.

The location was perfect. Extremly close to downtown and all the canals. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection. Beer in the vending machines. Would stay again.
The only complaint my wife had was about the outlet in the bathroom. It is older, flat outlet, her straigjtner would not work and there was no outlet near a mirror.

Nice location infront of the Dam. Nice and accommodative staff. You can leave luggage afterwards and roam around with no charges.
The rooms are small windows are looking inside, rooms are dark. Room was smelling weed and smoke. The beds are two single beds small and not even attached together so at night were opening and split.

Amazing hotel in Amsterdam city center, next to the main square and Madam Tusant museum. Easy access to everything, a tramp stop nearby. Comfy beds, nice bathroom and amazing breakfast!
The pillows were too soft for us,but it's now a big issue.

Location perfect,breakfast excellent and staff very friendly and welcoming.
Lighting system in the room. Cannot illuminate the shower separately. If one showers early, the light awakens the roommate.

Very thin walls- I could hear the room next to me very clearly through my bathroom. Heard a lady cocking and hacking for quite some time while I’m getting ready for the day. Lovely. Staff was extremely rude on multiple occasions, especially during checkout when I paid extra (without a problem) for a late checkout. They called my room four times during this extended checkout hour and were unbelievable rude, asking when and if I was ever going to leave. Won’t be staying here again solely due to lack of hospitality during ADE week, a very international music conference.
