The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the location is great. It’s close to the metro and only 15 minutes from Central Station. We also had an early check-in when we arrived at the hotel at 11 o’clock, which was perfect for us.
This was my second stay at Ruby Emma Amsterdam. I returned because my first experience was perfect. Unfortunately, the second stay did not live up to the first one.
The first room we checked into was very dirty, with stains on the toilet and dirt on the floor. We asked the staff to change our room, and they did so without any problem, which we appreciated. The second room was not perfectly clean either, but it was acceptable.
Another disappointing point was the breakfast. We hadn’t booked the breakfast option with the room, so one morning we decided to have breakfast at the hotel and paid on the spot. It cost €24 per person, which is quite expensive for what is offered, but we agreed to it. The real issue was that we arrived at 10:15, and at 10:30 everything was removed. The food wasn’t left out for guests to finish eating. In the end, we paid €48 to eat only two slices of cheese, which was very disappointing.
I understand that breakfast hours are clearly stated (until 10:30 on weekdays and 11:00 on weekends and holidays), but it was December 24th, which I assumed was considered a holiday. In my experience with other hotels, even when breakfast service ends at a certain time, the food is usually left out and simply not replenished, rather than being removed while guests are still eating. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

Very nice, comfortable hotel in the very close distance to the Metro (station Spaklerweg). Approx. 30-40 minutes by metro/train to the Schiphol Airport. Quite spacious room for two persons. The bathroom (shower) is located behind glass wall, the restroom is separate. Remote steering of the air-condition (temperature up to max 24 degrees) and window blinds. Minibar in the room. There is self check-in, but the assistance is available. The breakfast is available as well. Car parking is available nearby the hotel, but is paid extra according to the city rates. Very nice view from the higher floors.
We had a room facing the railway and metro lines, what was a bit noisy starting in the morning, even though the room was at 11th floor and the window blinds were drawn. However, the noise of the trains wasn't too bothersome. If we had a room on the opposite side of the building, I guess the noise would probably be close to nothing.
