Please note that from the 6th of January to the 14th of February 2026 all rooms facing the Gardenside will have paintwork done on the outside of the windows. This means a scaffolding will be placed. Painters will work from Monday through Friday. Prices have been adjusted already during this period to compensate for any inconvenience this might cause. Just 0.6 mi from the Museum Square, Prinsengracht Hotel is set in two 17th-century canal houses in a quiet street in central Amsterdam. Large quiet room at the back overlooking the garden. Delicious breakfast with freshly cooked eggs and bacon.
The bedroom was a bit tired but clean and it needed more lamps to great ambient light around the room. There was just one small dim bedside lamp and a large overhead light. It needed something between these two extremes to be both functional and atmospheric.

Very good location, daily maid service was great, room was always warm and had welcoming staff.
Bed was two single beds pushed together that kept separating, not to mention they both sagged down towards the centre, creating a hole that we would fall into each night. Also double shower but if you used both heads the water went colder, so had to just use one anyway. Radiator covers were broken and blinds on the windows were a bit broken too. Was decently clean but definitely dusty in places and bathroom could use a paint. Breakfast is very basic, probably wouldn’t pay for it if it wasn’t included.

We got 1 double room and one single room. The single room was very spacious for one person comparing to other hotel rooms in Amsterdam. The double room got upgraded to the garden house and it was fantastic. The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff were nice and chill. If you do not mind the 20 minute walk to the centre, the neighbourhood is fantastic, not so touristy and you get the local vibe.
The rooms need some renovation but it is nothing serious, I kind of liked the old school vibe.
