Please note that from the 6th of January to the 14th of February 2026 all rooms facing the Gardenside will have paintwork done on the outside of the windows. This means a scaffolding will be placed. Painters will work from Monday through Friday. Prices have been adjusted already during this period to compensate for any inconvenience this might cause. Just 0.6 mi from the Museum Square, Prinsengracht Hotel is set in two 17th-century canal houses in a quiet street in central Amsterdam. All rooms overlook the internal garden or the Prinsengracht Canal. Prinsengracht Hotel offers rooms with free Wi-Fi, in-room safes and private bathrooms with hairdryers. The receptionist (day shift - a gentleman always with smile) was super friendly and very helpful. I was going to give a 10.
But the receptionist (night shift - the young one with glasses ) was impatient and kind of had an attitude , not just me but also my friend had the same impression about him.

The location is fantastic—right in the middle of Amsterdam and a short walk to a metro stop.
My bathroom faucet was a little loose and there was some artwork that wasn’t exactly family friendly.

Everything was overall great. We chose the room with a canal view and it was perfect. Location was great, very close to the metro and also easy on foot. The breakfast was very tasty and the staff were very helpful and friendly! Would love to stay here again

The room was tiny, but I knew that when I booked. It was well designed & well-appointed despite being so small. There was a long countertop/desk which had a coffee machine and room for my luggage. There was a small cupboard and hanging space. The bathroom was small but had everything. The shower screen door was very narrow but it worked out fine. But I would say that if you are a very large person the "basic single room" might not have enough room for you. I'm average sized bloke and it was good for me. There is an elevator. The buffet breakfast was excellent and tasty with plenty of options. The buffet was refilled often. The location was fantastic, right on the Southern section of Pricengracht canal with an easy walk to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh. There is a tram stop 5 minutes walk away. Canal-side bars and cafes within an easy stroll. Restaurants too. Amsterdam is generally a very expensive city for accommodation, especially in a location like this. All-in-all I thought it was a good price for the location and the quality. Would I stay here again? Absolutely.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, with the exception of one male receptionist in the afternoons who wasn't very welcoming or communicative. I wondered why he was working in hospitality? The rest of the staff were charming. I travel a lot, about 3 months every year, and as far as I'm concerned, this hotel was a 10 for me.

Room was clean. Bathroom and shower were great. Staff were helpful and the coffee was awesome.
Bed was extremely small, not used to that. I understand it being a single but it felt smaller than comparable ones in Italy I was in. Didn’t like the location of the outlets to charge your phone, I had to reach way overtop of the headboard to reach the table and my phone so that was uncomfortable. For such a small bed, might have been better to put the headboard at the wall and a small table next to it as opposed to the foot at the wall and no table.

Breakfast was excellent, lots of breads, hams, cheeses, fruit, juices, pastries. Location is very good, close to museums, metro, tram. Room was cozy and bigger than I expected, considering it is Amsterdam.
There was a big spider in the bathroom one day. Didn't see AC, but wasn't a problem for us since we visited in autumn.

It was close to city. Mostly everything was in walking distance and metro #52 was a block away. The place itself was beautiful.

Amazing location, clean and cosy (yet small, but expected for the price) room. Breakfast buffet could have more options, but nevertheless its an amazing price to value ratio. On top of that, staff is very friendly.

Location
I stayed in a single-occupancy room on the ground floor, and it was quite disappointing. The room was very small with just one window, which made it feel a bit suffocating. The bathroom was extremely cramped—barely enough space for one person. The worst part was that the room was located near a public toilet, so you could often hear unpleasant noises due to the lack of soundproofing. On the other side, there was a staff access area, which added to the disturbance. Overall, the stay was not worth the price, and I would not recommend choosing this room.

Location. Very good stuff. Clean room. Coffee machine and tea pot.
I think not really worth value spent. Very small room (not recommended for people with claustrophobia). No free drinkable water in the room. Too soft bed especially when you have spinal issues. Teared towels. No slippers. Safe is not anchored.

Nothing! This hotel had BEDBUGS! We stayed in 2 different rooms and both were infested with BEDBUGS! It ruined our trip! We had to find another hotel in the middle of the night and pay more, and spend 2 days and over €1,000 on laundry, new suitcases and eating in -we couldn’t go anywhere! Then we spent our entire trip in England with my elderly in-laws disinfecting and battling them so we didn’t infest their house. More dry cleaning., pest control —They also have NOT reimbursed us! They are awful!
BEDBUGS! Do not go here.
