Lovely modern room, excellent location, friendly staff. Breakfast was good, particularly the omelettes which are cooked to order. We had a canal view which was lovely. I was worried it might be noisy with the trams but had no problem sleeping.
Overall we did really like the hotel and would definitely stay again but there were a couple of minor issues.
There was a long queue for breakfast on the first day we stayed and it took quite a while to be seated. It was a bank holiday and was fine for the rest of the trip.
At check-in we were asked if we would like to have less cleaning in return for points so the room was only cleaned on night 3 of our 4 night stay. We opted for this and it would have been fine except they didn’t really clean. Bedding wasn’t changed as we had left some items on beds - PJs and daughters stuffed toys. I have never experienced that in another hotel, in fact we usually return to the room to find a nice display of soft toys!
The bathroom wasn’t cleaned at all and the hand soap wasn’t filled up meaning we didn’t have any on last morning and had to use shower gel. This wasn’t a huge issue as we were only there a few days and the room was v clean on arrival but wasn’t ideal.

Outstanding location - walking distance from train station and right in centrum. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The perfect hotel for a short city break.
Can be loud in the corridors at night making it difficult to sleep.

Close location to central train station.
Lack of staff. Customer service desk had no one at it. Lack of porters and concierge desk usually had no one there. I’m almost 80 years old and had to carry my heavy luggage up the flight of stairs to the lobby because nobody was available to assist me.
When I checked out there was no one to assist me down the stairs to leave. I was told a porter would be there soon but I waited and no one appeared. A very kind woman with Viking Cruises volunteered to help me.

The hotel is ideally located less than 5 minutes walk from Centraal station and less than 10 minutes walk from Dam Square. Lots of choices of eateries very close by. Staff were invariably very helpful and the shower was excellent.
All Amsterdam hotels are in old buildings and that sometimes means old windows and lack of noise isolation. This wasn't a big problem as we were both so tired from seeing the city we slept soundly in our bed each night but was a slight problem when there was a political protest right outside our window one night.

Location is great. Just 3 minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Station.
The bathroom sliding door was broken and almost trapped my son inside. Needs regular maintenance of hardware.
