Location was great, directly across the street from Central Station. The hotel staff was very helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions. The rooms were nicely furnished, beds were comfortable and very quiet. We had breakfast included which was very nice, a large selection and made to order omelets or eggs. I would highly recommend this hotel.
I have no complaints about this hotel, everything was perfect.

Friendly and helpful concierge staff on arrival and departure - Zelda in reception was especially welcoming and helpful.
Breakfast was good with both hot and cold food choices.
Whilst the location is great, there is no designated drop-off or pickup area for a taxis outside the hotel entrance. When you get out of the taxi you must immediately cross a very busy cycle lane with cyclists and scooters whizzing past, this is an accident waiting to happen. especially for older guests or those guests with mobility problems.

Excellent location, and I liked the way the hotel interior had been updated within the historic facade.
It was helpful to be allocated a table for breakfast, presumably enabling groups arriving separately to be seated together.
It was also useful to be able to "visit" Carstens for a coffee direct from the street.

The restaurant is excellent, I returned there even when staying at another hotel in Amsterdam a month later. My standard double-room was spacious and entirely modern with all needed amenities - nothing missing.
While the hotel is very good, it is a great pity that it is merely a modern hotel inside, when on the outside, the building is beautiful – it is a reminder of the Grand Hotel it once was from the early 1900s. It is very sad that the entire interior is completely modern; once you enter the hotel, you could be anywhere in the world. Nothing in the rooms, in the restaurant or lobby reflects the timeless elegance of the old grand hotel it once was in the city of Amsterdam.
