We loved the comfortable rooms, the flowers and the way the hotel was decorated, and we enjoyed the breakfast and the food and drinks from the bar. We found the concierge’s very friendly and helpful.
We felt the reception staff and breakfast staff varied in friendliness. We also found the queues at reception and the waiting time on arrival and departure too long. We had to wait many hours to get into our room. (We arrived at 11:30am and had to wait until after 4pm to get into our room.)

Fantastic location , walked everywhere easily from Hotel, Room was very nice and exceptionally clean. Well equipped room with fridge, ironing board and iron and large TV with good choice of channels , Staff are fantastic and lovely, from reception and concierge to the housekeepers, you are all so happy and helpful and a credit to the hotel...thank you
Even though we had no view from window in our superior king room, which was a shame, it was still nice. A minor grumble to a wonderful hotel.

The staff were all very pleasant. The young woman who checked me in was exceptional.
The bed and pillows were a little too firm, but I understand its impossible to cater to all preferences. This would not deter me from visiting in the future.

Great location and after complaining that we had nothing but problems with the hotel since we arrived i.e cold rooms, heat not working, far from each other...we were given complimentary breakfasts and a discount on our dinner bill
Check in was a shambles and we were given 3 double rooms before they settled on one for us which was an odd shaped room at the end of a corridor. Service at breakfast and in the bar was not good and very slow. We picked this hotel because of its history and the old and elegant building but ended up staying in modern rooms in the extension.
