The location across from the train station, the size of the room
When you walk in, there are stairs which is not great with luggage. Then you have to go up two different sets of elevators to get to your room. Even though the lobby and building looks to have charm, you get routed (at least for me) to a rather generic room. This was the end of my trip where every place I had stayed had been quite charming, with at least complimentary water bottles/boxes. There was not even a tiny bottle of water. The room was comfortable, but had a weird mirror along side the bed.

I did not do the breakfast, but the location was perfect. Easy access to the train station for getting back to the airport, and the rest of the city was easily accessible. I enjoy walking. So that made it terrific.

Location was not excellent. Directly across from Amsterdam central. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. The pool was great, we used it every day.

Of the 4 night stay, 2 days no room cleaning/maid service turned up between 9 and 5. Had to be chased at reception.

Conveniently located opposite centraal station (main station). Easy access to the tram to get around the neighborhoods. We absolutely loved the espa collections in the bathrooms and spa area. The sauna was a welcome treat to rejuvenate.

The location of the hotel is excellent and close to everything we needed. The breakfast selection was very good and the service was excellent. Special thanks go to Fatima (a supervisor at the breakfast area) and Chadid from the concierge service for the empathy and support they showed us following an unfortunate accident that I had on the third day of our arrival which required emergency surgery and room confinement afterwards. They went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and well attended to. Many thanks also go to the hotel management who were also concerned and ensured that we got everything we needed. Sending a bouquet of flowers and fruits to the room was a very nice gesture.
The size of the room and being on the 5th floor which restricted our enjoyment of the canal view!

When you walk out of the train station, you can actually see this hotel. It is in the middle of it all. Such incredible location and convenient to many parts of the city and to the trams if you are heading to the museum. The location had great amenities and offered a bonus if you chose to be 'green' and not have new towels and sheets every day. A nice little advantage.
Since many rooms are in another building, you do have to take two elevators to get to your room. I have have a little issue with my knee and it was further than I had hope, but it also meant my room was very quiet. The bummer was when one of the elevators in the bigger building broke and it mean you had to take the stairs or wait 10 minutes for an elevator.
