The staff were super friendly - we had an issue with the AC in our original room and the staff moved us right away, and our new room was even slightly bigger than our original. They gave us a welcome drink, and the location is super central and convenient. Loved the bar downstairs with the pool table!
Not that we didn’t like it, but we found it odd that the toilet and shower are in the room (within their own cubicles). No wall or door to separate, so I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re sharing a room with someone you’re not close with, as they could hear everything happening in the toilet.

Room was on 1st floor, canal view, which was convenient to nip out with Margaret our dog for a wee etc. however, was a bit noisy on an evening, would maybe benefit from new windows/triple glazing. Didn't stay for breakfast as we were with our dog who wasn't allowed in the breakfast room BUT we wanted to go to Egg Benedict for breakfast anyway which was a short walk away and DID NOT DISAPPOINT ! As did MOMO the Japanese style restaurant attached, was awesome, and catered for our dog (not literally, they allowed her in) Also nearly forgot, CARPARK by MyWay was/is attached to hotel reception internally, bonus...!
Was a bit noisy on an evening due to low floor level, canal side and old, aluminium framed possibly single glazed but couldn't confirm, windows.

This is hotel in a major European City, which it is, by definition, pretty expensive. The room was well appointed, everything worked well, and it was comfortable. It is exceptionally well located. It is right on a main canal, where one can access the canal cruise boats very easily. It is also a short walk to the main museums, and there are a number of restaurants around, with varying cuisines. They did one thing we really appreciated. They offer a nod to sustainability, by letting you opt out of room cleaning, rewarding you with a free drink at the bar if you do so. That is something we normally do anyway, but it was nice to see it being reinforced. The breakfast was extremely good. All-in-all, we though it was a great place to spend a few days.
We have two suggestions. The carpet in front of the elevators on some rooms is stained and creates a bit of a bad first impression. The rest of the hotel was very well maintained, so this seemed something of an unnecessary oversight. And we found the internet to be a bit spotty, spooling at times when trying to stream.

Hotel itself was fine and good location for museums.
On site restaurant (albeit not owned by hotel), Momo, served food containing lactose to a lactose intolerant person as part of a tasting menu - even tho we stated this at the beginning of the meal and specifically questioned the particular dish before eating it. No offer of money off for this, even though the evening and an expensive meal was ruined. We felt we couldn't make a huge fuss in front of other diners, so we put the bill on the room. Next morning reception says they can do nothing about the bill as Momo is separate .....

Location was execellent. Bed in the room is large and comfortable and the bathroom is nice and welll-equiped.
The room was very small and the furniture (except for bed) very old and dusty. There is no closed wardrobe, only a few hangers.
