Wonderful
It was so lovely having the option to pay for a breakfast each morning as we weren’t sure what our days were going to look like. It was such a wonderful spread of different options to enjoy and was a great way to start each morning.
There honestly wasn’t much to complain about. I struggled with the pillow options for sleeping comfortability but that’s it.

Great location.
The hotel is quite old despite the renovation.

Wonderful
The hotel was large and had an expansive lobby with games, lots of seating areas and large windows out on to the street, lovely to just spend a bit of time. The room was large and easily accommodated the three of us.
The check-in was a bit slow, the front desk almost always had a line, perhaps if there was one more staff on duty, especially when people are dropping off their luggage.

To start Amsterdam is a very expensive place to stay, eat and to do tours and activities. This is why we chose to stay only three nights. From the time we arrived and by the time we left we knew we had made the right choice to stay here. If you have time set yourself down and read. Wonderful lobby with comfortable chairs and couches and it was beautiful. Some stairs to the front desk, a ramp for rolling bags and a wheel chair elevator. After we checked in a young man who worked there took our very heavy bags to our room. I walk with a cane and our room was across the hall from the elevator, very nice and quiet. The elevator took us down to floor 0 and just a few steps to an in hotel grocery store with food, pastries and drinks. (pop, juices, wine and spirits) The room had a canal view. The bed was very comfortable. We had a round table, couch and stool. Great bathroom with walk in shower. The breakfast was wonderful. You could order four different egg omelets off a list and subtract item or order scrambled or sunny side up eggs. Everything you expect including hot chocolate and breads and cheeses you can only get in The Netherlands. I did not bring a wheel chair and in other towns, we have been lucky to find museums that had free use of one. I went to the front desk and asked them if they knew where we could rent a wheel chair. The young lady went to their storage closet and took one out. My wife push me about ten blocks to get to the Van Gogh museum which is less than four or five blocks away. (We often get lost) We turned the wheel chair in at night and we got to use the wheel chair the next day for the RiJksMuseum. We had never used Uber except with our eldest grand child. The young lady at front desk help me to set up my Uber account. Which we are now using in our next stop Bruges. the cost for Uber a lot less than taxis.
It could have had a microwave in the room, but it did have one down stairs in the store to share. It could have had an over stuffed chair and maybe a table chair with arms and a back. Breakfast was late, because they have two days for Pentacost. Sunday and Monday in May and every body closed down at 4 PM on Monday. Not the hotels fault.
