It is one of our favorite hotels. This was our second visit and we will go back. We love the big window with view of the canal. The location is excellent and the staff is always helpful.

Very Good
The staff was very friendly. We loved the sitting areas, especially the "Library" that featured books that were set in Amsterdam. My husband liked his so much, he went and bought a copy. They had a nice snack shop area to buy individual drinks and pastries if you didn't want to pay for the whole breakfast. The view of the canal was lovely, and we actually enjoyed watching a thunderstorm from our window one night. We did access the gym which had sufficient equipment for a good workout. The neighborhood was a nice mix of small restaurants and actual apartment, and it stayed quiet in the evenings. We liked not being "in the middle" of everything but having easy walking access to what we wanted to see.
The front lobby was a bit warm at all times but there was a crazy heat wave when we were there. The hotel was a bit pricey, but Amsterdam hotel taxes are high compared to other European cities.

Alessio was wonderful in getting us checked in by calling housekeeping if our room was ready. This means a lot to us because we were exhausted from traveling. She went above and beyond to make sure we get the room even if it was not 3pm yet.
The other reception lady didn't bother checking and just said that it's not 3pm yet and that the room is not ready from just looking at the computer screen.

Wonderful
The hotel is located in a very convenient place. It's super fast and easy to get there by bus from the airport. When you need to navigate across the city or the surrounding area, the metro, tram, and train are also nearby. Not to mention the walking distance to the museums and nice neighbourhoods.
Bed quality is decent (compared to what you usually have at home, and excellent on the scale of many other hotels). Ventilation is quiet and nicely placed. We had a room with panoramic channel view, and it was an incredibly breathtaking experience. The road between the hotel and the channel is absolutely quiet.
The breakfast is amazing. Definitely worth giving a shot.
Staff are polite and helpful. The lounge area is very cosy.
The entrance door soundproofing can be better. When your neighbors speaking too loudly in a hallway or opening and closing doors, you most likely will learn about it. However, this a common issue for many hotels, including this one.
No closet (or other storage for clothes) in the room. It's a rather minor thing, but a little frustrating at the same time. I can understand the design reasoning behind it, yet I wish they had even a small closet.

Excellent location for the museum lovers. Minutes walking to Rijksmuseum, van Gogh museum.
Beautiful view from the room overlooking the canal and the city.
Excellent full breakfast.
The room was very spacious and comfortable, lacking a bit of shelving/drawers to unpack.

It was so lovely having the option to pay for a breakfast each morning as we weren’t sure what our days were going to look like. It was such a wonderful spread of different options to enjoy and was a great way to start each morning.
There honestly wasn’t much to complain about. I struggled with the pillow options for sleeping comfortability but that’s it.

To start Amsterdam is a very expensive place to stay, eat and to do tours and activities. This is why we chose to stay only three nights. From the time we arrived and by the time we left we knew we had made the right choice to stay here. If you have time set yourself down and read. Wonderful lobby with comfortable chairs and couches and it was beautiful. Some stairs to the front desk, a ramp for rolling bags and a wheel chair elevator. After we checked in a young man who worked there took our very heavy bags to our room. I walk with a cane and our room was across the hall from the elevator, very nice and quiet. The elevator took us down to floor 0 and just a few steps to an in hotel grocery store with food, pastries and drinks. (pop, juices, wine and spirits) The room had a canal view. The bed was very comfortable. We had a round table, couch and stool. Great bathroom with walk in shower. The breakfast was wonderful. You could order four different egg omelets off a list and subtract item or order scrambled or sunny side up eggs. Everything you expect including hot chocolate and breads and cheeses you can only get in The Netherlands. I did not bring a wheel chair and in other towns, we have been lucky to find museums that had free use of one. I went to the front desk and asked them if they knew where we could rent a wheel chair. The young lady went to their storage closet and took one out. My wife push me about ten blocks to get to the Van Gogh museum which is less than four or five blocks away. (We often get lost) We turned the wheel chair in at night and we got to use the wheel chair the next day for the RiJksMuseum. We had never used Uber except with our eldest grand child. The young lady at front desk help me to set up my Uber account. Which we are now using in our next stop Bruges. the cost for Uber a lot less than taxis.
It could have had a microwave in the room, but it did have one down stairs in the store to share. It could have had an over stuffed chair and maybe a table chair with arms and a back. Breakfast was late, because they have two days for Pentacost. Sunday and Monday in May and every body closed down at 4 PM on Monday. Not the hotels fault.
