The shower is open and it's impossible not to make a mess with the water. The staff doesn't refill shampoo and shower gel. They also don't refill drinkable water at all. The air conditioning doesn't work, it blows air but never cools down to cause temperature to drop at all. Overall I think they pretend to be a high end hotel but they are not there at all.

We appreciated the effective and working aircondition during the heatwave we were in at the time and the helpfulness and politeness of the staff. The breakfast was good quality,
Room small, layout was terrible, with one side of the bed against the wall. The bathroom flooded every time we would take a shower, creating a serious risk of falls and injury, the extractor fan wasn't working. The (Dutch) cheese was one of the worst ones I have had, and I love Dutch cheese, to me it is the best cheese by far, so it was disappointing to have this quality of cheese in a 5 star hotel in Amsterdam! The food in the restaurant (Copper) was OK, but the chips that went with it was of lower quality and the mayonnaise, provided in the sachets was terrible, again very disappointed to find that in Holland, where "patat met mayonnaise" is very popular! I don't think this part of our stay reflected the true Dutch character

Nice hotel in a good location, walkable everywhere/to major museums and very close to the cities largest park. Room was comfortable with generous proportions and comfortable beds. Nice Art Deco style building.
The reception area and downstairs bar has a constant smell of drains - it was a heatwave in Amsterdam at the time but this was pretty grim to walk through every day. Get some airfresheners!! Breakfast was too expensive for us.

What a fab overnighter. Got an upgrade which was proper comfy, didn’t make breakfast but I have had it there on a previous trip and it’s ace!

Great location, easy to get to from the rail station and good connections via a short walk to the tram stop. Staff were friendly, a lovely greeting at check in. Walking distance from Vondel Park and Rijksmuseum. We had a superior room, which was located on the 4th floor at the back of the hotel. The bed was huge! The room was spotless, comfortable and very quiet. There was a good choice of food at breakfast and staff were present, stocking up on items. If you decide that you do not want your room cleaning, you receive a voucher for a complimentary drink in the bar, which is an excellent idea.
My only slight negative, and it is very slight, is that the shower could have been a more powerful and the toiletries easier to get out via the pump.
