Pleasant
Beds were fine, linens were clean. We stayed here 2 summers ago and ultimately chose to stay here again because the location can't be beat, however, we probably won't return. The area is gorgeous being more of a residential area. The Rijks and Van Gogh museums and Vondelpark are very close to walk to as is the Leidseplein tram stop. Plenty of places to eat around there.
Our room was tiny, less than half the size from our first visit in 2024 with the exact same number of beds. We've traveled a lot in Europe but still this was very small for 3 beds. The third bed seemed an after thought. It was diagonal and put in front of the window. You had to step over the corner of the third bed to get to the other side of the double (2 twins) bed. Curtains were torn away at the rod and didn't close properly so light filtered through temporarily blinding my husband in the morning, haha! The bathroom was small as expected but MUCH smaller than our first visit. The shower didn't drain great and stays wet which we knew to expect because our first visit so we had a small fan to run in there. They do have an elevator but it's best once the luggage is in your room to just use stairs. Know they're steeper than normal if you're an American. We didn't pay for breakfast as there is a SPAR convenience store around the corner to pick up pastries, coffee, and snacks.

Good
The location is excellent, very near the tram and walkable distance from the Center. Almost everything can be done online or with messages.
Our room was on the underground floor and right next to the elevator mechanism so there was a constant noise from it and step sounds occasionally from reception. After 1am it was much better but If I was not on holiday it would be a deal breaker. Also I believe having the cleaning only upon request is not appropriate for a 4 star hotel. Staff was helpful but could be friendlier.
Overall if you use the room for a shower and sleep is ok but still not worth the prices.

Exceptional
Excellent location. Showers were great. Room had everything one needs. Staff was friendly, helpful and solved problems fast.
I had 2 rooms booked: a twin and a single. The twin was great, but the single was indeed very small, which is fine, I’ve read in the reviews and expected it, just sharing the experience.

Breakfast was basic, but ok.
Room was reasonably clean, but there was a lot of dust on the bathroom bench and floor.
Great handy location, easy access to trams and museums.
Cleanliness of the bath was not great.
BIG ISSUE: My payment on arrival was not registered in their system. On checking out, I was required to pay a second time to allow settlement of the account. I was promised that the financial department would check and refund one of the two amounts. On following up with evidence of my double payments and several emails and phone calls, this has not as yet been rectified. This is simply not acceptable. I will be seeking stronger action if this is not resolved soon.

I am not sure if this is the Hotel or booking.com but when searching for accommodation I requested for Breakfast to be included, Twice in Holland I turned up at Hotels and breakfast was NOT included and then there was city Tax and found myself out of pocket in some places by an additional 80 Euros for extras that get thrown in on arrival. The Location is PERFECT, the rooms were great, but Holland has just become a very expensive destination and will not include Hotel stays whenever I go back, its just not Value for money.
Cost and that breakfast was Not included in the booking when I requested it. In don't know if this is the hotel false advertising or Booking.com

Good location, reasonable room and facilities
Room could have had storage suitable for longer garments and shorter people would find bathroom basin quite high.

Pleasant
The hotel has a great location, within walking distance to tourist sites, bus, tram and restaurants. Staff were friendly.
We had a few issues which was reported to Reception. Could not call reception from the room telephone. Safe bolts out, could not use. Room windows does not open for fresh air. The basin in the bathroom had smell which did not go away even with running the water. Hotel could do with an upgrade and new mattresses. Had an issue with the taxi company on our departure and dealt directly with the Hotel Manager.

Location is very good, 15 min walk from the city center. Or you can rent a bike from a hotel. Good breakfast.

Wonderful
I have been traveling for years, and I have never met anyone as customer focused as the wonderful woman named Arusa at the reception desk. On Booking.com we had requested a quiet room after a long flight. Arusa personally showed us 3 rooms, discussing advantages of each.
The next day, she called by our names, and asked us how we'll we liked our room. We stayed 3 days, and we were lucky to see her each day. She was so welcoming and helpful, and went way beyond our expectations. Wow, we were so amazed at her performance, despite her handling a busy reception area with other customers. If we owned this hotel, we would definitely promote her to the highest level of management. Only space limitations here prevent us from offering her more praise!!!
We did not know there was another Leonardo Boutique Hotel so close to the one we stayed at. Both our Google Maps, Uber and taxi drivers kept directing us to the larger venue.
