The location is very good in the central area. The room perfume smells really nice, at the checkout we received a mini bottle as a gift from the staff. All the staff is friendly and kind.

The location. The hotel is near the train station and all major sites
Breakfast at the hotel is very good
The bathroom was not really clean. We found a HUGE hole in one of our towels.
There is no closet , very unconfortable when staying a few days. The lightning is quite poor
Also the paper bag in which our take away breakfast was put, tore long before we arrived at the train station. Very embarassing to have all the food spilled on the pavement!

Great location and amenities. Quiet, relaxing. An oasis in the middle of one of the busiest neighborhoods in Amsterdam.
The rooms are very comfortable. Very quiet. Be sure to pay for the breakfast, if that’s your thing. It’s excellent.

We appreciated the location being near the heart of Amsterdam, within walking distance of the central station and Dam Square. The staff were all friendly and professional, especially those at the breakfast. Although there were only two lifts, the waiting time is very short. I liked the decor in the room, but my partner was a bit spooked by the weird paintings and statues. Reusable water cartons are restocked daily which we made use of both in the room and as outdoor water bottles. The shower had great temperature control and high water pressure which made it pleasant to use.
The main reason for our lower rating is the cleanliness of the room. For a 5-star hotel, we were surprised to find some kind of grime on the drawer handles, discolourations on the couch fabric and spots on our pillowcases on some days, as well as a coloured red/brown stain on one of the hand towels. See the provided photos for evidence. It was an inconvenience that housekeeping would not replenish the tissue box in the toilet if they found it empty, and we had to manually request it on several occasions. The bathroom lock also didn't work. The kitchen closes in the evening and has very limited in-room dining options past a certain hour.

Our room's AC didn't seem to work properly. We asked the front desk and though a technician came to check and supposedly work on it, it still didn't work. The room was warm even at night.

Location, friendly staff.
It was overpriced. It should not be rated 4.5-5 stars. Was not luxury. The room had cheap furniture. That may have been consistent with the overall style, but room and bathroom were also small.
