We stayed at the Hotel Catalonia Vondel Amsterdam before our river cruise, and it was a fantastic choice.
The hotel offers A++ service, a superb breakfast selection and it's in a fantastic location — right in the heart of one of Amsterdam's most beautiful historic neighborhoods, with everything within easy walking distance.
Check-out is at 12pm and even after that, the staff happily look after your luggage while you continue exploring the city.
We booked three rooms and found the quality to be well above what you'd expect for the price — genuinely 5-star accommodation at a very reasonable rate.
Tip: ask for room 201, which has a lovely outlook.
Highly, highly recommended — this hotel is a wonderful base for anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Great value for money. The room was spacious and silent, good appliances, great bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Julio César and Víctor.
Some noise comes from the rooms in the upper floors.

We were given a room upgrade and it was wonderful having more space. Hotel was perfectly located to get to all the experiences we had booked and for public transport.

The Service was amazing, they Cleaned the room Daily contrary to European standards. One sees that not so often here. Location is amazing but the only problem is, there is construction going on right now. It’s not so noisy but the downside it takes up the view from the hotel and the street. It was a vibe killer for me.

Location is good, quiet street, helpful staff.
This isn’t a 4 star hotel, I’ve stayed in way better 3 stars. Breakfast isn’t included in the price which seems ludicrous for the price and 4 star rating. Very expensive for what it is. Rooms need a revamp. Don’t do twins now unless it’s an executive room.
