The hotel is very stylish, beautiful, and cozy, with a lovely garden. The location is also convenient for the metro, not far from the city center, but without as many crowds as in the center. The people at the reception are very friendly, and it is a lovely touch that they offer apples. The food in the restaurant is delicious as well. However, there are no vegetables at breakfast, which is strange. The menu is also quite limited and very small, but everything is tasty.
pillows were very uncomfortable — extremely hard and large. You could break your neck on them. We asked the hotel for alternative smaller pillows, but they were also very uncomfortable. The mattress was hard as well.

Great hotel, quiet location -close to public transportation the staff was nice and attentive.a very good hotel for people who want to visit Amsterdam, but not get caught up in the fuss of the city center.

Very modern, clean, friendly staff from start to finish! Loved our Deluxe room. Very spacious and nice size bathroom as well. Rooms were quiet. Also got good recommendations of what to do. Amstel Station in walking distance and got us straight to Central Station easily. Got Trams from there where we needed to go. Had room service the one night and the snacks/food was very nice.

Be careful choosing this hotel, watch out for bugs!!! We paid 930 euros without breakfast for something that’s actually worth 748 on the day of booking. When we got back to the room the very first day after a tiring day, we discovered a LIVE silverfish bug the size of a quarter crawling under the bedsheet!!! We killed it with a pillow and immediately contacted the front desk, took them half an hour to finally find a double room for us, then we had to request new bed sheets for two single beds and make up our own bed at 2 a.m. They gave us one day breakfast for the trouble and never mentioned anything about it during our stay despite the reception promising that they would report to management.
The service is a luck game in this place too, one lady at the front desk is so rude to everyone, based on the other reviews mentioning something similar, it just shows how much management cares about the customer experience if at all.
The hotel is a 10 mins walk from the train station in a residential area with absolutely nothing to see, I’m sure for the same amount of money we spent we could have gone to anywhere but enduring this worst nightmare!

Retro chic did not disappoint. But all amenities provided in the suite and if not and quick call to reception and sorted! We didn’t eat at the hotel but the lobby looked great and had a great atmosphere.
