A great central location, we were able to walk everywhere.
A truly beautiful hotel. Clean, quirky and special. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, breakfast was delicious. We hope to be back!
Unfortunately the Brewers room is noisy early in the morning being under the servery area. It didn't spoil our stay though and the hotel provide ear plugs!

Wonderful
Our room was The Blacksmith, a two story room with 2 twin beds upstairs and one queen on the main floor. This hotel had a great location. It was kind of equidistant from the very center of Amsterdam and the more quiet and charming outskirts. It is on a corner, along a canal and the streets are lively at night. Check in was wonderful and the staff put our luggage in the room for us while we relaxed. The staff was so nice and very attentive. The breakfast was amazing, served at the table and with a lot of options. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very good with a great shower and plenty of room. The hotel is really well decorated and charming. The hotel does have an elevator.
If these following complaints were put on a scale of 1 (not bad at all) to 10 (terrible), they would be a 1 or 2. These were not very big issues at all. The Blacksmith was a decent sized room but with 3 beds, it gets a bit tight for 3 or more people. The queen bed on the main floor takes up much of the space there and the 2 beds on the second floor are up a flight of a narrow turning staircase. This was slightly challenging to get our luggage up to the second floor room with the twin beds. However, weighing this against some other hotel rooms we've rented in Europe, this Blacksmith room would NOT be considered small. There was a little more street noise at night than anticipated but that did not keep us from sleeping.

Where do I begin? I arrived after a very long day of travel. The staff were absolutely delightful! They took my bags, helped me get settled, and explained the layout of the area. There was even champagne waiting! A take-away lovely breakfast was arranged, because I had an early morning departure. I stayed in the Cartographer Room with a beautiful canal view. It was all just perfect.
There was nothing to dislike.

The breakfast was outstanding. Served on a tray with so many different options to eat including freshly squeezed orange juice and a cappuccino.
There's nothing that really could be better. I stayed at 7 different places this trip, 6 in Amsterdam, and the Craftsmen was the #1 stay. Keep in mind that every place I stayed at was at least an 8/10 and two of the stays was top notch. The level of detail and ambience of the Craftsmen combined with the hospitality of the staff was unmatched. Kudos to them for making those 3 nights epic.

I consider it as a 5 stars !
I was on the boat builder room : exceptional !
Clean, good location and good breakfast
Corner view
Honestly, it is pretty much perfect, but it could be more perfect if the TV propose streaming as Netflix/Prime… and also the pillows are not very good, but it is small details pretty subjective. You definitely have to try this hotel !

The hotel had a lot of character! Each room with a slightly different theme. It was great stay in a property that had a lot of history which was acknowledged. The breakfast was also well presented.
Nothing really, though the room was a bit small to be overly comfortable to spend any amount of time in, so I didn't!

Service was truly magical! The hotel team called me prior to arrival to confirm time, helped me to my room with luggage, and reserved a car to the airport for me. Room was small (expected) but thoughtfully laid out (definitely only room for one in the Instrument Room!) and overlooking the canal. Loads of bars, cafes, restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was truly the best I've ever had - from the choice of breads to the spread ready for me at the table so that I could eat prior to early flight! I can't say enough about the quality and variety as well as the cute breakfast room! And the gift of gorgeous coasters of the hotel (blue & white porcelain!) were the icing on the cake!

Wonderful
The room was absolutely charming!! It had beamed ceilings and wooden windows that opened out onto the canal below. The bathroom was small but excellent. I loved that it was called the Bookbinder Room and they had epoxied the back of books together to form the desk top. The location right on the Singel canal was a 5 minute walk from the train station and ferry and was within walking distance of the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum.
I would prefer to have a blanket on the bed. My room was a little hot and there was a Dyson A/C which I used to cool things off but I sleep better with a blanket on top. Other than that, loved the room.

I loved the warm attitude of the staff – everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. They even shared the story of the hotel, which made my stay feel special. The property itself is simply stunning – I’ve traveled a lot, but I’ve never stayed in such a beautiful hotel. The view from my room was amazing yet peaceful, not noisy at all. I also received a complimentary upgrade and thoughtful souvenirs that now remind me of my trip. Breakfast was delicious and varied, a perfect start to the day. Overall, it felt truly unique and memorable.
Nothing really – everything exceeded my expectations.

From the moment I arrived, the hotel’s uniqueness stood out—rooms are named instead of numbered, each reflecting the theme of its décor. I stayed in The Instrument Maker, a cozy room perfectly designed for one adult. Despite its small (emphasis on SMALL) size, clever design and thoughtful touches made it feel comfortable and welcoming. A bottle of sparkling wine awaited in the fridge, and a personalized printed welcome letter and candies left in the room made the experience feel extra special. The room had a beautiful view of the canal, the bathroom was well equipped, and the breakfast in the morning was divine. I loved how every detail, from the piano-key desk to the instrument-themed décor, was thoughtfully curated.
The only minor suggestion would be a luggage rack in the room to place your suitcase behind the door. This would be an addition and did not detract from an otherwise excellent stay. This hotel is a gem for anyone seeking a personal, carefully designed, and memorable stay in the center of town.
