Pleasant
The location was good and the bed was comfortable
It was very expensive for the room, no view. And, no real facilities (Spa/sauna). We were told initially we couldn’t get a drink at the bar, when I pointed out, they were still open hours, they reluctantly served us a drink, and then rushed us out at 11. What’s the point in having a bar if you don’t have staff to manage it during Bar hours. If I’m paying 400+ euros, I expect to at least be treated with more patience and professionalism. The price didn’t even include breakfast. Just include it, you’ll have happier guests with better reviews

Wonderful
The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the location is very central to the main attractions. Canal view gave a charming vibe.
The room and the bathroom are quite small.

Exceptional
Lovely location overlooking a canal. Close to everything in the centrum including the train station. My 3rd floor room has a sitting area with a window that opened onto the canal. The Nespresso maker didn’t work, but otherwise, it was great.

Very posh with a great view of the canal out front.
Nothing in particular, it’s nice and I’d stay there again.

We were able to get the "Family Room" which is just a massive hotel room with 6 twin beds that can be arranged to your liking. For a family of five that finds it very difficult to travel comfortably, this was the perfect find in Amsterdam. Hotel is in a fantastic location and staff is very helpful and friendly.

Located in a quiet yet accessible area with very helpful staff. We stayed in a large room which was so nice after being in a tiny cruise cabin.

The hotel is about a 15-min walk from the train station. It was very centrally located. There were plenty of restaurants in the area for breakfast/dinner. The breakfast at the hotel was lacking. They are not equipped for breakfast, but they tried. We tried it one day, but it was not what we were expecting. I would suggest you have breakfast at a restaurant nearby. The room was great. Large enough for us and the bathroom was well equpped. The staff was great. Always helpful if you needed them and provided good info for during our stay.

The location was ideal. The canal view was excellent. There were many small details that made for a perfect stay...heated towels, shoe shiner, very clean, magnifying mirror in bathroom, very friendly & helpful staff.

Poor
The location is good.
It is very noisy. Paper thin walls. It's like your neighbors are in your room because you can literally every single thing they do. It's absolutely impossible to sleep as soon as your neighbors are awake. The room is tiny. There is about 20 cm on each side of the queen size bed. Their photos are misleading. Some rooms are good but they are all different so be aware. You can have a good experience or an awful one. In this particular room. It is awful. Probably why they take the money up-front. Will not be returning.

Exceptional
We chose Sebastien's due to it's proximity to Amsterdam Centraal which is about a ten minute walk away. Our room was on the third floor with a superb view of a local canal. The location is great in terms of proximity to local points of interest and restaurants. The rooms are smaller, but they have achieved a great layout with the available space. A couple of pleasant surprises were an elevator and a great breakfast in the morning. This hotel is great for those traveling by train. We would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

Disappointing
The staff was kind, helpful, and professional.
The room was too small, and disappointing for the price and expectations for a 4-star hotel. There was one pillow and one decorative pillow. The bathroom had a broken fixture. Any stay I've had a chain hotel off the highway was a better experience.
