Bkfst amazing. Lots of variety. The coffee was fair. Location for Amsterdam was incredible. away from the hustle and chaos and public transportation a short walk. Dewi and Naomi at front desk were incredible.
I think the hotel is overpriced. Disappointed we had no fridge to even keep our drinks cold.

The staff were fabulous from the moment I arrived. My room was overlooking the waterfront which I could see from my bed. The bed was so comfortable, I had a great nights sleep. The room was just beautiful, and the bathroom was stunning. It was the perfect place was a relaxing stay.
The spa are could do with a bit of a revamp. The breakfast was plentiful but the hot food was a bit dried out which is normally the case in buffet settings

Very nice design and very kind staff.
it’s a bit overpriced for what it offers. It’s not that luxurious for the price tag and the location is a bit of challenge since everything in Amsterdam is a 40+ minute walk and the public transport is limited to a single bus that gets you to the central train station. Additionally the menu (excluding breakfast) is very limited to Indonesian cuisine so it made it a no go for us to dine there as well.

This was our first stay at the Hotel Jakarta. We chose this hotel because it was out of the downtown area, but still easily accessable. There was no biy-city noise to worry about. We mostly walked into the centre of Amsterdam in the mornings, then called for an Uber on the return. FYI - an Uber to the hotel from anywhere downtown is 10 Euros.
As soon as we entered the hotel we were greeted by friendly and very helpfull staff. Our English only language was not at all an issue. Security was very good as a room key is needed to access elevators, stairs and your room.
We liked that the entire hotel is built (as much as possible) with sustainable material. Even the room key is made of wood.
The includded breakfast is much more than we expected, catering to many cultures. All the staff at breakfast were very friendly and made us feel welcome.
We did not know immediately, but when asked, the chef cooking breakfast will make you anything to order; from omelettes to poached eggs. The chef is busy so it might take a few mniutes for something made-to-order, but it was always good.
We encountered several days of rain when leaving the hotel. Umbrellas are offered at the exit door for customers to use.
We found the hotel restaurant for an evening meal had limited options beyond an European diet. Evening servers were not as able to help us with our english, but that is on us for only having one language, not at all the hotel or staff. Our meals had some parts of it missing (as they were described in the menu) and it was not easy to explain to the staff that parts were left out. But we did not go hungry.

The location was good, and the food very nice. Although for our two night stay the pudding on the menu that I choose was not available (chocolate Desert).
We stayed two nights and our room made creaking and banging noises during the night that severely disturbed our sleep. When I mentioned this to reception staff, they said they were aware of these problems in that room, which was due to the construction of the hotel in wood, and I was offered ear plugs!! It is only when I complained further that we were offered another room. I do feel annoyed that we were initially given a room with known problems, that then hampered our sleep on the first night.
