The property is in an amazing location - we even accidentally ended up back there multiple times while wondering around!
The stairs are VERY steep, pillows were different sizes (both very small) & the carpet was ripped in the room so we tripped over it a couple times. The sheets also had some stains. None of these overly bothered us though as it was a reasonable price.

I was looking for a low budget room at a place near the center. Because i smoke, it was important that the Hotel is smoker friendly. I don’t spend that much time at the hotel room normaly, so i don’t need luxurious furnishings. It was what i was looking for and what i paid for. So 10 Points.
Because it’s a older building and it’s where people spend their evening, it’s sometimes a bit loud. But they offer earplugs without asking. So they now and i know when i do the reservation. With people working there it‘s always kind of a personal thing i guess. I felt welcome most of the time and if not, it was because i wanted time for my own. So how can i ask other people to treat my like a friend. I got handled like a customer and this is what i wanted. For this time, because of my personal reasons. If you walk into the bar, you will see that it was my decision. The vibes are very very positive and friendly!

The stairs.. but most Amsterdam staircases are very narrow. so not an issue solely with this hotel and nothing i can really complain about

The smoking room and the bathroom and massage chair was great
Michelle the owner was the most unhelpful when i asked to change rooms and infact send a rather rude message to me via the chat service threateneing cancel my room at short notice or to pay extra dispite booking.com displaying the same rate that I had paid for another room, however I agreed and paid an additional 56 euros.
When I arrived Michelle charged me again and had his staff inform me that of i did not make the payment i would not be allowed to stay leavimg me stranded in Amsterdam. So i paid again.
The staff then printed me an invoice for a room costing 339 euros I provided proof that that was exactly how much i had paid, however proceeded to take another £56 anyway. I now have a bank stament showing a 405 euro payment for a 339 euro invoice please make it make sense !!! And no it was not city tax !!!

Affordable and very well located hotel. Perfect for people watching from the windows as they look over the Amsterdam streets. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again!
